  • A former Catholic priest pleaded guilty to sexual abuse charges involving two boys. David Poulson faces up to 14 years in prison for incidents that happened between 2002 and 2010. He's one of only two Pennsylvania priests to face charges since a grand jury report identified hundreds of abusive clergy. Nikki Battiste spoke with two victims who confronted another priest with hidden cameras.

      Marrisa Dominguez I can’t agree more. Sexual abuse is something that takes years to face in some cases. And when it happens the victims go threw a guilt of looking at their actions. And questioning if they did something to cause it. And if the person is strong enough to report it immediately then they get questioned by the police in the same accusatory way. And rape and sexual assault seems to be the only crime that becomes a case of the accuser needs to defend their actions. It is horrible.

      The Catholic church is not truly in the business of spreading the gospel and God's love. They are secretively in the business of pedophilia, corruption, and money. That is why they transfer them over. They want to spread the pedophilia rather than stopping it at the roots. If you think this is about too much forgiveness, you are sorely mistaken. This is about allowing evil to spread in seemingly good places for the purpose of power and corruption. Haven't you heard Jesus say you are liars and deceivers and you are of your father, the devil. These are not godly people. They are evil and clearly doing the enemies work- their actions prove it. The leaders of the Catholic Church are not Christians but rather wolves in sheep's clothing. Haven't they proven that enough already? time and time again, priest after priest, victim after victim, the church sweeps the sin and evil under the rug so as to cover it up rather than you bring the darkness into light and take responsibility. This alone should prove to everyone that it's not a genuine christian church. The parishioners on the other hand are not a part of this evil because they are left mostly unaware but they are still being led astray by the many evils of the catholic church.

    • @dominicksebastien2254
      @dominicksebastien2254 Před 5 lety +7

      It should've been reported but when you say Catholic Church, I am not sure you know what you mean. This were things done in the Church, by the Church, from the Church to the Church. The Church is not simply top down institution. There are so many people and so many things interconected here that it's impossible anomalies not to exist. And yet, in all this interconectedness, each and every single cell of this huge, enormous, community right down the family, has its autonomy.
      If you have 100000000 believers, 1000000 communities, it would be impossible not to excpect that there were hundreds of communities that have become disfunctional.
      You have cells in your body, all the time, there are abnormal cells whuch you are not even aware of. They got eliminated all the time, but if your immunity is compromised, you will get sick.

      It never goes away, no matter how hard your try to forget it, or stay busy. I’ve learned so much about dealing with my traumatic experience as a child, and it absolutely sucks because while your left to deal with anxiety, depression, sadness, your abuser is fine because they are sick in the head and enjoyed what they did and see no wrong. What I have learned is forgiving is the key. People say they will never forgive, but for me it’s truly helped me to let it go and not try to continue to hide it or cover it up. Again it doesn’t go away, but your not chained to the trauma anymore plus my faith in God and knowing one day we all are going to be held accountable for what we have done here on earth.

      Michelle Gersic Catholics are not powerless in the church! The people hold all the power if they would only use it. The money comes from the people. No money, no church. I know well that it is complicated because people send their kids to Catholic school. I not only went to Catholic grade and high school but went on to earn 3 university degrees in theology. I loved my schools. But the fact is that the schools may have to be sacrificed, for awhile, in order for the Catholic people to demand what is right. Stop giving money to the church in any capacity and the bishops will have no option but to listen and change. The only other option for them would be to see the church shrink and eventually disappear. Please don’t ever say the people are powerless. They are not. Who pays for the priest to live? Who pays religious orders to survive? Who pays to build the church buildings and schools? Who pays for retired priests to live and have medical care? Come on stop this victim crap. I mean those who think they have no power in this institution. Theologically you may not have power. That is most regrettable and can be changed. The Church is not God. It is only a church. One of thousands. Check your priorities and your loyalities Then get about the business of making hard decisions and clean up YOUR church!

When I was a child a boy had molested me and many others! One of my family members were molested by him for five years! I am 58 years old and my family member is 60 and when he and I spoke just recently he broke down and told me how this has affected his life! Throughout the years I have tried to find this person without any results! Until recently I found him! I went on the sexual offenders list... Without a doubt I knew I was going to see his face! I was shocked he wasn't on it! So what I did I called the police department in his state and spoke to the detective who is in charge of pedophiles! He was very sweet very understanding and got on the case! After a few conversations with the detective he called me back and told me he has never been charged with any misconduct of sexual abuse! Though in the same breath he stated many pedophiles never get caught! I was ready to throw up! In this whole process this man at sexually abused me and many others and has gotten away with it throughout all these years... Sickens me!!!

    There really has to be some sort of lay oversight in the church. My son went to a fantastic school in his junior years. The teachers were fantastic , the principal was fantastic and most of all there was a dedicated band of parents who did a tremendous job of supporting the school through the PTA . We had fetes , quiz nights , pamper evenings , dog nights , etc etc etc . Always something on the go. Everyone at the school was focused on the job at hand . It was a great school and a happy little school. Even though it was a poor school. Anyway not long after my son left it turned out that the 'trusted' school book keeper who had been left alone to do her job had embezzled a fortune from the school. It was only then that I realized that in spite of all of our hard work and very successful events that the school was always short of money. And parents were always being asked to chip in for this and that. And I did not think about it . And neither did any of the other wonderful parents. The board of governors was a dormant rubber stamping body . If members of the PTA had been given just a little bit of oversight and the power to ask questions none of this would have happened. And so it is with the church. There are many many wonderful good decent honest members of the laity but they have no power to demand answers. The job of preaching and teaching must of course always stay with the priests and the bishops . But as far as the running of the church ordinary lay members must have the ability to demand answers to questions. my pennies worth.

      No.. that priest is to blame for succumbing to his lower desires. The devil only made a suggestion.. that priest accepted the invite. Tbe devil must still have the priest because he cant openly repent

    Thank you for coming forward ❤ I myself struggle with so much with this constant question of forgiveness!! I can't forgive someone nor should I be told I can't heal without it. It doesn't mean I'm carrying anger or hate. The forever feeling of self guilt feelings of being unloved different something is wrong with me reliving it daily without trying judgment shame the pain list goes on and the short time they are charged with if charged is degrading.. I forgive myself for feeling all this pain I did not cause

    Was this guy reported to the legal authorities? Or he still free to carry on his abuse? What happened?

    Revenge. We need revenge. An eye for an eye. Corporal punishment to the max.

    My dad was victim when he was an alter boy in 1979 😢
    In 2015 the priests name was listed in Saint Paul MN as an abuser.
    Karl Wittman, enjoy hell.
    Another victim was abused in the 60s and he wrote a book called Unholy Communion about it and it’s being adapted into a film. And they are filming at the house across the street from my dads house. Crazy…
