    Thank you for the comment about not wasting materials! So many "craft channels" just casually cut their projects out of the middle of a sheet and toss the rest aside.

    The applications are endless. I really didn’t have time today but just had to stop and see what you were up to. I sent my hubby your atmos box open. Thought he’d be interested in the rock speaker. He bought everything. Thanks. I don’t think I could have convinced him on my own.

    PS: the main downside to this is that you can't roast the pumpkin seeds!

    You can also use powder like talc or even makeup powder to stop them from sticking.

    I love those sneaky edits you do like a clap of the hands and your gloves are on, or chucking a t-shirt at your chest, then you're wearing it. The one here where you chucked the seed strip and it scattered into all the cut seeds was really cool :-)

    I'm going to try and make them with pva glue- because (bummer!) latex allergy. I love the way these came out!!!
    I'm also going to roast and then coat/seal real pumpkin seeds... they won't rot or be eaten. And if a mouse does get in... more creep factor!

    First I wanna say I love the hoodie! Great tutorial, looks time consuming but well worth it, it looks like. Also for the peeps that are allergic to latex, you can look up the recipe for diy slime that uses baking soda, contact solution, and Elmers school glue (has to be Elmers brand or it doesn't work). But as you mix and the more you knead the mixture, it becomes less slimy. Anyway, have a great weekend and great tutorial!

    Wow those are super cool and look really realistic! Although if I may, I would like to suggest using real pumpkin seeds as a time saver if you have access to them. As long as they were properly dried they should work well. The reason I believe it would work is that I save seeds from year to year for planting. I have some squash and pumpkin seeds that are 10 years old. While they aren't viable for planting anymore, they are not bad or mouldy. I would just recommend making sure you remove the film that easily flakes off once they are dry, otherwise it would prevent them from properly adhering to the latex and some would likely fall off eventually.

    I'm surprised I haven't seen you make use of cornstarch/soda modeling compound more. Seems like experimenting with thickness you could have stuff for building up noses, brow ridges, and cheekbones to thinner dribbled blobs to give a "melting" effect. Maybe it doesn't stick well enough? I think there are also some recipes that incorporate glue as well.

    I've heard, but not sure if it's true, instead of putting silicone on the strings/guts to stop it being sticky could you not use corn flour/starch or baby/talc powder. I've seen it been done in another tutorial where liquid latex was used. But anyway your tutorial was really great so simple but very effective. I always look forward to seeing you you will be crating next. Tfs.

  • @NobodyWhatsoever
    @NobodyWhatsoever Před 6 lety +1

    Would it work out to either make the seeds first, then add them to the strips of liquid latex before they dry, or to paint on another layer onto the stripes, and pace the seeds, just letting the entire thing dry together?

    • @MonsterTutorials
      @MonsterTutorials  Před 6 lety +1

      That would work. I kinda figured it out as I went. Just make sure the seeds stay kinda white. Orange seeds look weird.

    Do you know if latex clings/sticks to nitrile gloves? I'd love to try some of these tutorials with Halloween coming up, but I do have a mild latex allergy and I get a rash if I touch it for too long. Usually it's not an issue, since I don't handle latex for more than a few minutes, but doing crafts with it would probably require more than that. (I'm thinking I could spray varnish/shellac afterwards, might make a few things a bit shiny but it would hopefully keep me from getting itchy once it's done)

    • @astrid6496
      @astrid6496 Před 6 lety +1

      I do not know if it sticks to nitrile, but if it does you could powder the gloves. Talc keeps latex from sticking to itself, so it should also keep it from sticking to your gloves!
