      Yea that's an important point, I prefer when people suggest that the kind of culture, mindset, and leadership on those Pistons teams would have altered how he developed as a player particularly on the defensive end, and that may have led to championships down the road. So let me get this straight, people think Melo would have been fine as the 2nd overall pick just sitting on the bench with Larry Brown notoriously not playing rookies? People actually think Melo would have been fine sitting on the bench just "learning" after being a huge star all his life up to that point and just winning the National Championship as the star of the team, while his draft classmates Lebron and Wade would be the focal points of their respective teams getting numbers and playing time? Use common sense and what you have seen from Melo throughout his career, try to understand why Chauncey Billups said Melo was often more concerned about scoring and getting his scoring numbers even more than winning.

    • @Jairusd88
      @Jairusd88 Před 2 lety +2

      I agree but at the same time vets ran the league at that time and rookies came in and followed the culture of the Vets not like today. So I think Melo would have gotten shaped to playing a role as a go to bucket guy for the pistons if he was used but you’re right though about Larry brown not playing rookies he was notorious for that but that personality that Chauncey was saying Melo had came from years of having his way with the Nuggets organization before Chauncey got there so yeah he was more concerned with points but it was because the Nuggets had zero identity at the time and Melo knew he was the best thing that ever happened to them.

    Melo wins a championship, maybe two, maybe even three with Detroit. Pistons lost to a young Lebron after they went to the Finals in '05. A young Melo and a veteran Detroit team beats Lebron in '06. All of a sudden, Melo is a Detroit dude. He is signing long term with this team that he just won multiple titles with and doesn't care about going to play with Lebron and Wade in Miami. At this point, Lebron and Wade are teaming up so that they can beat Melo and the Detroit Pistons who are running an NBA dynasty. As a result, Melo gets into the conversation with Wade AND Lebron as best of a generation.

Kobe Bryant told squa he too fat lose weight and that was why he felt they lost to Pistons and let me clear this up we won game one lost game 3 and won 3 in row so we won series 4-1 . We killed a prime Kobe Bryant and squa without Melo....but the funniest part of this is Richard Jefferson still salted about Taushon Prince chase him down and blocked him and if he didn't we would of lost in Eastern conference finals to the nets ... lmfao 😂😂😂 salty Richard Jefferson don't want to talk about this subject made my day

    Larry Brown hated playing rookies, Melo’s always been about his stats and would’ve pouted and forced a trade. Common sense is officially dead

    They wouldn’t have played as a team and Detroit wouldn’t have won the 04 championship.

    Carmelo Anthony = No Rashid Wallace, which also means no championship and 5 consecutive Eastern Conference Finals appearences.
    The question should be if Larry Brown would have coached Carmelo Anthony in Detroit better than how George Carl coached him in Denver?

      I could’ve sworn the Pistons was tryna get Rasheed since 2002 so they definitely would’ve still tried to get him

    Sorry, but people forget rookies need playtime to progress & if I'm not wrong, pistons coach preferred veterans anyways. Melo probably wouldn't have reached his potential. Maybe he wins 2 rings, but he won't be the fmvp there

    yes it is possible if they drafted Melo, the Pistons maybe couldnt get Rasheed Wallace, it is totally different scenario
