- Sul manuale di EX5 non c'è alcuna spiegazione su come cambiare e dove sia allocata la batteria tampone (del tipo CR2032). L'operazione in realtà è semplicissima, basta accedere al vano giusto posto sotto allo strumento. Ma forse alla Yamaha potevano pensare anche ad un luogo migliore per piazzare la batteria tampone... Bonus: una veloce carrellata sui suoni, scegliendo a caso... Un saluto a tutti i possessori di EX5 !!!

One of the best EX5 videos on CZcams.
This is the BEST demo I've seen of the EX5, complete with the battery changing and showing where the RAM is located for upgrades. This is what I wanted to hear - the synth pads capability. It sounds GREAT. Many thanks indeed!

I have the EX7 which is also nice. If this demo music is truly your EX5, then I am really impressed. Thanks for the how-to session on changing the battery. I'll probably be selling my EX7 and a Kurzweil K2000R for an EX5 or EX5R.
i have had this keyboard for 12 years just now it needs changing good demo, i have all the motif keyboards now but still love my ex5 and would never sell it

I just bought a yamaha ex5 and when I wanted to edit a sound, they erased the others, how can I do a factory restore, could you help me?
HI there, I went in to do this, lifted up BOTH lids and...can't find the circular thing for the battery? My manual says to contact a service person for replacement but...I was thinking I could change a battery myself but...couldn't find what you found (that circular thing housing the battery)? It's definitely a Yamaha EX-5. Advice from anyone?? Thanks!

Ciao! Scusami, ne approfitto per una domanda veloce, se hai tempo e voglia di rispondere. Ieri stavo suonando e ad un certo punto sento uno scoppio, vado a controllare e vedo la mia EX7 spenta, il tutto accompagnato da un leggero odore di bruciato. Potrebbe essere semplicemente il condensatore o l’intera scheda di alimentazione, ma per poter verificare, devo aprire il vano ad 8 viti che hai fatto vedere nel video per sostituire la batteria? Quella lì sotto è la scheda che mi interessa? Grazie!
Se hai sentito uno scoppio è proprio un brutto segno... spero solo che sia il condensatore e te la cavi sostituendo il blocco di alimentazione... La scheda madre (se fosse quella, ma la scheda madre brucia senza scoppiare... quindi non sarei propenso) è difficile da smontare, non te la cavi aprendo i due pannelli sotto, ma devi disassemblare tutto il blocco ... quelli che si vedono o nel video sono i vani di accesso agli slot della ram e alla batteria tampone (e si intravede la scheda madre, ma dal semplice accesso non credo si riesca a togliere.... In bocca al lupo Gabriele...

Yes great synth indeed. I replaced the floppy drive in mine with a USB Flash drive Floppy Emulator. It works great!

In "Too Clever" EX5 is the bass, the arpeggio, and solos. I love its sound.
I sold my EX5 for Motif ES and I NOT refret... But i miss my old EX... I bought Alesis Fusion 6HD, but the sound is not just right... I'm thinking to get back EX7:)))

Il fader è "quasi" a zero, non è a zero. nella telecamera il compressore audio amplifica anche un segnale bassissimo, quindi non era il caso di alzare più di tanto... ecco la semplice spiegazione... (ma scusa, pensavi che fossi in playback? ah ah ah!) Ciao

BEWARE: The method for removing the battery (demonstrated at 02:48) resulted in the breakage of a section of the plastic holder when I just attempted it; making it now IMPOSSIBLE for the new battery to be installed and secured! This is definitely NOT the best way to remove the old battery. This allegedly simple do it yourself procedure just cost me a lot more time and money than what I would have spent if I'd had it done by a knowledgeable service tech.
