Flávio César Resende Gualberto (born 22 April 1993) is a Brazilian volleyball player, a member of the Brazil men's national volleyball team and Polish club Aluron Virtu CMC Zawiercie.

ah come on mate, of all his plays you picked this one? this is not the best play of the video at all! The libero Sergio could set like that all the time! Compare this to Ricardo's sets on team brazil 2000'. They were in a harder position, an IN TEMPO. 2nd tempo I might add. Id say setting in transition from 4 to 3, perfectly to flavio so he could do a straight bounce without any blocker reading him is way better.

@@danielgarrido6182 It's become a game with a bunch of very fast, very tall people who have a range of flexibility in doing things that were unimaginable a decade or two ago. Most teams can deliver an offensive play with 2-4 options of hard attacks even when having a pass that's not on point.
Volleyball used to be about smaller people jumping hinh and perhaps the occasional tall block standing around or moving slowly. You used to have OK teams with individual great players do reasonably well. Now most teams have most positions filled with amazing players. Brazil, the US, Italy or France have few weak points. It's all about the team now which makes many of the CZcams video titles of person A vs person B annoying AF.
Now that it's tall people being fairly fast and having a range of options, having individual players of 1.9m jump high and perform beautiful power spikes is just among the least impressive and interesting things volleyball has to offer in the year 2020.

Flavio is not very tall, but he is so explosive and jumps so high it makes him one of the best middle blockers in the world. Like, he once reached up a 356cm spike, which meant a 113cm (44.5") estimated vertical jump with little to no momentum. He is probably one of the best vertical jumpers in the world out of all sports (except athletics' Vertical Jumping).
Powerful
He makes up for his height with technique, speed and a blocking sense out of this world. I think he's the best Brazillian MB for blocking specifically (Top 3 of the world) and top 2/3 on attack as well.
Edit: I don't mean only the "kill" block, but also the one which annoys the opposition attackers the most. Glues on them like a magnet!
He's good but not thats best. Compare to Lucas Or Souza he still need long way to improve a lots ( Isac is even better at the moment ) espcially when its come to important match he lacked his confident reliable and stable performance. Hope he will play better to be main team since Lucas got 35 y/o already.
@@hoale8507 ofc if you compare him to te top 2 MB's in the world, he isn't gonna look that good. But he's gonna be there soon. And about Isac, I strongly disagree that he's worse; Flavio has got better defence, blocking and attacking skills than him. The only thing Isac has got one over Flavio, is his serve. Other than that, Flavio is above him everywhere else.

In other hand there are others Murseky , Simon, Lisinac, Holt ... better than him both in attacking and blocking . I didnt see him in top 3 ( top 3 of the world) and top 2/3 as you told.
If you following Bra team recently through WC/ VNL you could see why he wasnt picked up for tokyoolympic rooster ( isac instead)
Vnl2021 he got a chance to be main playing a lots of match ( Lucas joined last week of tour only) but he didnt work well on that. Got blocked , eff rate low, couldnt block opp ... Eps match with Russia, Fra,.. and he got 28y/o already i also hope he could upgrade to be next main MB of Bra since Lucas already 35
@@hoale8507 Seems you've misunderstood what I've said.
I said that he's better than Isac, not Lucas, or Mauricio, or any of the other MB's you've mentioned. You can confirm it yourself, reading my previous answers.
The only thing I think he excells is blocking and yes, I'll go as far as to say that he's the best blocker I've seen so far. But that alone shouldn't mean much to you, since I can't see much.
