- It's always good to experiment with different ways to make marks and introduce variety to the way you create texture and lines. The beach is a great place to start, you can use discarded rubbish or natural materials like feathers, sticks, seaweed and shells. If you don't have access to a beach use leaves, grass, straw and sticks etc.
On a recent walk with my rescue dog little Buzz I collected a few things to experiment with. I use Indian drawing ink and cartridge paper.
I appreciate your use of found objects to make your art. I started doing something similar in art school and it was not as easily assimilated or respected by professors. Thanks for the validation. It makes your art truly yours.
You are so welcome! Thanks for your positive comments, it's really appreciated. I try to use recycled materials often and making marks with found objects is very inspirational, you always surprise yourself.
COOL!!!
Lindo demais! ❤❤👏👏👏🤩
Thanks
Wonderful
Liking the marks from the feathers, so subtle as well as broad and the frayed rope. Don't live near the sea but plenty of seagulls and pigeons about. Wonderful landscape at the end was a nice surprise. I'm a fan of little Buzz too, so pleased he has a loving home now.
Glad you enjoyed it, hope it inspires you. I'm sure little Buzz will be featuring in some future videos.
This is fantastic. So very well timed too.
Glad you think so! Thank you.
After watching the news it is healing to watch you create beauty using discarded stuff.
I find it's a great way to escape and hope it helps others.
Wonderful example of mark making to produce a picture that beautifully represents where you found the bits and pieces.
Thanks so much.
👏👏👏 very creative....inspiring!
As if the wind blows. It looks so easy to get that affect with these random, natural mark makers.
Processo de motivação criativa com coisas do meio ambiente, fazer Arte é preciso!
Thank you very much 😊
Dan there is no limit to your creativity. Great video!!! Thanks for sharing
Thank you
Just discovered your channel. Your creativity is amazing and so inspiring. Thank you so much for sharing. Love the dog so happy on the beach.
Legal o seu trabalho!
Thank you
Thanks Dan! Loved the walk on the beach with 🐶 Bonito Buzz and the marks you create on paper
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks.
Cracking video Dan, lovely to see Buzz to he's such a character. It's great fun using found objects with ink, I like sectioning off a large piece of paper and going to town with things like Hydrangea heads. Thanks for the reminder it's so easy to forget to just play
Glad you enjoyed it, I'm sure Buzz will feature in some more videos, he's a cool little guy. I want to work on more of these kind of videos.
This is a really excellent video, Dan. Wow.
Glad you liked it!
Very creative 👍
Thank you so much 😊
There are many things I like about your art, but I especially appreciate that you upcycle…find a use for otherwise discarded items for mark making, masking, painting, etc. utilizing items that would otherwise be one and done (tossed out). Very creative and stretches the use of so many of the products we manufacture and fill the earth with. Thanks.
Thanks, and more on the way. I use a lot of discarded rubbish in my sculpture work.
Thank you. Wonderful results. most of which couldn't be achieved with a brush.
You're welcome!
Absolutely fascinating to watch ,thanks for this special video Dan . Wonderful to watch and inspiring . Bravo ,I’ve grown up with art ,now 68 years old and loving all aspects of creative inspiration !
Glad you enjoyed it
No need to buy expensive brushes, when you can make such interesting marks with a lot of things discovered while having a walk outside, in woods, nearly everywhere. Some imagination, and you’ll realize funny creations, even interesting compositions … not only using ink … One more inspiring experiment by Master Dan ! 👍
Thanks so much, I hope this video encourages others to experiment this way.
I did something live that a few years ago. IT is fun! 😊
It really is!
Very Cool!
My favorite mark maker was the feather, then you used the twine, it’s a toss up for me now😊 very very cool❤️
Oh and not because the marks represent anything in particular, but that the items used is so random in how it’s formed❤️
It's great to explore random things, there is an endless supply on the beach. Glad you enjoyed it.
It was very inspiring. Don't have sand beach like you here but I can make marks with other things. That landscape seemed like a day in the beach. I live imagining things 😊 Thanks, Dan 🏖️😍
Thank you, it just shows that expensive materials or brushes aren't always needed.
