I like how Bullock angrily took out his gun and then paused, as if he had to think of an excuse for what he just did, so he stutters out "Threatening...a peace officer"
I think that's the best thing about this show. Bullock's anger isn't portrayed as righteous, it's portrayed as borderline insane. Like a tidal wave he can't even hope to control, that frustrates and only serves to fuel his anger further. It makes him seem unstable rather than awesome, which makes it feel very real.
bullock got increasingly unstable, and awesome, as the series progressed! lol, as a man who isnt trying to scheme his way around the changing economic world of deadwood, he doesn't have as much to lose by attacking hearst, unlike everyone else who's worried about laws, charters, treaties, the kind of shit hearst owns at.
When Tolliver says "Don't be stupid", he means "This man has money and power, you're going to get into trouble", but when Bullock says "Don't you be fucking stupid", he means "You fucking better not give your men the signal to shoot me when I drag him out"
I think bullock had to arrest Hearst before he snapped and murdered him. You can see him barely managing to restrain himself here. Pretty sure one more insult from Hearst wouldve got him shot
Even if The Wire and The Sopranos Fucked and had a baby It still wouldn’t compare to Deadwood Greatest thing ever made for television Bless Milch and the fantastic ensemble cast who made this miracle
Hearst's insult to Bullock was pretty awesome. But yeah, Al got kinda soft in Season 3, because he liked to plan things and also he wasn't very respectable so the law could come down and crush him, whereas Bullock really couldn't control himself and had the law on his side even if Hearst had all the power.
Bullock gives off the vibe of being so on edge he might just go off on someone and damn the consequences.... cause he did, often. You really didn't want to push him.
His fearsome reputation is what helped clean up Deadwood. By all accounts he was a good lawman and never backed down. (Except with the real Al Swearingen-they made a sort of truce.)
"did you just tell me... fuck myself?"
I love how he delivers this line
he was hoping for this moment

Uh. He was struggling not to blow that guy's head completely off his head in the middle of the Gem, IMO.
@cobblerwillorange * they're in the Bella Union but I see your point.
@@cobblerwillorange The Bella Union. The Gem Saloon is Al Swearingen's joint.
Bullock so angry hes about to cry lol

@@oceandark3044perfectly put
I remember getting into it with some guys and one of them saying “ease up on him, he about to cry.” 😭he was right but I tried to hold it in
i love how Bullock rang the "f u" right in his ear...the actor who plays Hearst dont get enough cred ....he crushed it in every scene
he was in
So little cred he get you can't be bothered to say his name instead calling him the actor who plays Hearst hahahahah

That ear tugging is such a dad move lol. Hearst couldn't believe it.😄 It ended up making Hearst nastier.
And brought a whole army of Pinkertons in case Bullock tried it again.
That is, by god, the best delivery of "Fuck you" I've ever heard.
The absolute best part of this, is the rage on Bullocks face when he asks "did you just tell me to fuk myself"
I love how Bullock was always on the verge of crying when he confronted people. He still won every confrontation (I think).
He was winning against Swearengen and then Dan intervened.
It was his temper, you can see him taking backlash and then go full rage mode afterwards.
@@AndyP998 It's actually not uncommon to tear up during confrontations. It's a sign of strength when you decide to confront someone through the tears.
@@Joekidd1961 No he wasn't. They fell off of the balcony in a tussle and Bullock luckily happened to land on top. That's not really a win.
im not sure if you know what that was about, bollok was a pure rage machine, like a drug addict he did indeed feel shame after
Bullock is the definition of swag.
I think bullock had to arrest him or it would have looked like he has no control over the camp

1:22 most satisfying dialogue in the whole series for me.
That has to be one of the best delivered FU's in television history.

barely controlled rage
Rage, Bullock, rage!

Unless you had an army at your back, which is why Hearst calls in the Pinkerton’s.
Awesome
Oh my God what's better than this.
+NSpector I can think of something...
only The Wire...
NSpector As far as I'm concerned anyone that watches this clip is obliged to a shot of whiskey.
Good waste of whiskey.
Damn skill with screenwriting though.
I remember this, this was when Bullock tied for my favorite character with Al.
An evil man with anger issues is one thing.
A good man with anger issues makes for people like the Punisher, or Bullock here.
@ravenouscolonelhart Haha, he is so cool!!
@TheDirtball69 he said "or i'll quiet you myself" which is a threat i guess
Definitely. He implied he was gonna kill him by saying," I will shut you up for good."
Bullock a little on the sensitive side😂
Timothy Olyphant is amazing in everything. Except maybe Scream 2.
You could give the best chef on the planet the shittiest ingredients and it would still suck.
Hi daddy Hearst
@QuanahBrightman I know, I wish somebody would of just shot Hearst when he showed up. But that wouldn't of made for a very good story line,
@SuperTornado2212
season 3, episode 5
At least hearst is a true depiction of how american senators and leadership acts
@Belarion A.D. “What good is it to have the world, and yet lose your soul?”
Don't fuck with Raylan Givens!!!!! Hahaha!!!
