    I have had a Casio F91W for 7 years. Replace a battery once. and also a metal stretch band. Best watch ever.

    The fact that there's a knockoff version of the f91 still gets me 😂

    I haven’t watch the whole video yet but the “experimental piece” is literally begging to be left alone 😂.

    This is not "Mod". Only module change.

      I'm not sure what clone he used, but one alternative may be Skmei 1412. It has the same dimensions with the F91W (but longer in length by 0.5mm and in width by 1.5mm). I'm planning to mod the EL light of Skmei 1412 to Casio F91W

      @@Orney I haven't actually done the modding because I currently do not have a F91W (it's pretty expensive here in the Philippines). I got the idea from Techsas because he suggested it to me. However, I do have the 1412 and it's a really good watch (a very cheap watch, it only costed me a fraction of the price of F91W). Not as accurate as F91W though (it advanced by nearly 2 minutes in a month, kinda bad but it's alright). I was blown away by how Skmei managed to put an EL light on such a small timepiece, and it works very well too.

      @@lazolazarov6262 I never actually did the mod because I just decided that it would be pointless because:
      1.) [If I tried to transfer the clone module into the F91W casing] the outcome would just be a knock-off 593 module on a Casio casing; and
      2.) [If I tried soldering the EL from the clone module to the Casio module] I'm bad at soldering, so I did not bother anymore because I might just mess the module up instead 😅
      But I'm pretty sure that the clone that he used in this mod uses the same module that Skmei 1412 has

    If you don't mind me asking, what did you do to place the backlight to the F91W? Did you just transfer the module of the clone to the F91W case?

    • @Alias_Anybody
      @Alias_Anybody Před 4 lety +1

      That would be kind of lame - if you just use all of the tech the Skmei had, why even bother to swap cases? They are boderline identical.

    • @vanred7550
      @vanred7550 Před 4 lety +2

      @@Alias_Anybody That's why I want to ask him about how he made the mod because I want to know how he'd done it since he did not state in the video his procedure for the mod. I'm planning to mod an actual Casio F91W module with an EL backlight from a clone watch (Skmei 1412) and I want to find a tutorial if one even exists. If he simply transferred the Skmei module to the Casio case, then it's not worth attempting (at least for me) because it's not an actual Casio module

    • @Ni5ei
      @Ni5ei Před 4 lety +4

      @@vanred7550 He does state it in the video: "This is not an original Casio module."
      He just transfered the Skmei module to the Casio case. I don't know why he even bothered to make a video about it. Might as well just buy the Skmei and wear it as it is.

      Sorry but no. I bought it in Aldi some 2 years ago. Didn't find it listed online anywhere, not even with its model number, which is the same for a lot of different such knockoff watches.
