We are in full agreement James, absolutely a glorious moment in history, over and above the history of music. Dimash's vocal range is stratospheric, and his tone & timber are comely to the ear and sweet to the spirit. I'm so glad the Great Placido Domingo and he could collaborate and sing this timeless duet from The Pearl Fishers by Bizet, this will be played millions of times --- easily, millions of times, likely billions and beyond --- by their fans around the world in perpetuity. Maestro Domingo's artistic devotion and vocal longevity are testaments to why he is the living legend, the greatest of all time. I just watched four reactions by my fellow Americans just before ending my evening with your reaction. None of the Americans had any idea who Dimash was singing with, nor were they able to fully appreciate the sheer beauty of what they had just witnessed. They kept calling it a "nice song," and some even wondered if this was a cover or an original. Sometimes, I am embarrassed to be an American; we have one of the worst education systems in the world. Not 90. He's just had his 82nd or 83rd not sure which. Placedo fulfilled a dream of Dimash to sing with him. He was saying to Dimash, he does not sing tenor anymore. And Dimash being able to sing in any voice, took on the tenor voice. They were both part of a team of judges for the competition of young musicians. Worth looking that up. Such wonderful talent. Placido was top judge.

It was not his idea to perform, it was Domingo's. . And at very short notice, plus Dimash was sick. He did it bc he has always admired Domingo and wanted to sing with him and would never disrespect Domingo by refusing such a great opportunity.
