The new Spider-Man game looks like it has a chance to be the best Spidey game yet. Only thing so far that doesn't look excellent about it is that awful white spider symbol on the suit.
If we could get the web slinging of Spiderman 2, mixed with the combat of Web of Shadows, mixed with the style of Ultimate then that would be the ideal Spiderman game experience.

After getting 100% on Spiderman 2 I still spent hours just swinging around town. Jumping off the needle of the Empire State Building and doing a last second swing before touching the ground would launch you across the island. Dragging a villain up there and pile driving them all the way to the ground was effective in ending a fight like a boss. It was so entertaining, and that stupid freedom of controls is what's missing from most modern games.

I have the Spider-Man game on the Playstation from 2000, the one from the 2002 movie, Ultimate Spider-Man from the PS2 and Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions and he also appears in my copy of Marvel vs Capcom 3 (which are both on the PS3). I'm a huge Spider-Man fan !!
I loved Spider-Man 2! Though I kept away from people who needed help near the water, I could never save everyone on the sinking boats. And sometimes I couldn't get the kids balloon back, so I just popped the damn thing.

I actually enjoyed the ASM2 game. Story wise, it was pretty interesting since only a small part of it followed the movie. And it had one of biggest costume collections I've ever seen in a Spider-Man game.
for anyone wondering, the web slinging was changed after spider man 2 because of a dispute with the developer of the web slinging code. basically much of that game was written on off hours & the team wasn't properly compensated. After the game was released there were contract disputes of sorts, not sure on exact details, but the guy who wrote the web slinging code was able to keep that code as his, and eventually release an unsuccessful kickstarter game like 10 years later based on that code
Lets just remember how Spiderman 2 web swinging actually made you shoot the webs to the city buildings instead shooting them in the air, it also seems it was programmed by a single man

Ultimate Spiderman is my favourite, i love the graphics, dialogue and specially the boss battles.
