Aiman is selling the "dream" that Siraj Ul Haq was talking about - a young girl, falling in love, getting married and having a child (a typical girl that.is mostly being shown in dramas right now). So, in my opinion, she is exactly what dramas are selling on TV. There is Saba Qamar, Sarwat Gilani, Ayeza khan ( both balancing motherhood and professional lives) and many more who actually are influencers in real life.

I think when watching a movie or a drama, a viewer knows exactly what can impact him/her, sometimes we watch just for the sake of passing time, a change, sometimes for fun, we don't watch everything to learn something and sometimes we simply forget it right after watching, sometimes after watching a drama, your reviews make me think oh yea you are right, this is wrong, otherwise i wouldn't use energy to analyze. Having said that, when we watched beauty and the beast, may be that time was too innocent, even the elders never thought abt it as a kidnapper story so we never realized whats wrong in that until now that we are grown ups and talking abt it. In young age, the brain doesn't function like adults, but can it leave an impact, yes or no, depending on the perception or analytical analysis a kid can do at that time. Alot of content we have seen as kids doesnt make sense now coz now we can reflect and analyze it. Its like math theorems in class 10th, you cant make sense of them until you reach an older age and then realize oh thats why they said it. Every individual has filters for good and bad, but every filter is different from the other. And these filters keep getting better for everyone but every one takes their own amount of time, some might take a day, others years...

Movie "Highway" had a totally different premise. Alia Bhutt was kidnapped for a ransom. Randeep Hooda didn't have any other motive (Sexual) with her. He took care of her as a human being. In the end, she shares her childhood trauma with him and he sympathizes with her without judging her or taking advantage of her vulnerability. That's what brings them closer. No other sexual desire was involved. There was just likeness that started to develop when he was killed before it could turn into romance. I think it was the sweetest movie which cannot be compared to "Muqaddar" or similar movies.

I have seen a little bit of tendency in Aamna that she doesn't criticize international similar content with such vigor the way she criticizes Pakistani content and gives it some artistic pass. Like she was very vocal about Dr Harris' character's immorality but at the same time brought up Freud and praised it. I am not criticizing Aamna at all but I think she can improve on this aspect :) And what if the main character has a back story? It doesn't justify him doing anything he does and the makers glorifying it. I think she is also learning and looking for answers on how to regulate content which is very much understandable.

As for whether we've evolved as human beings, I think that the biggest evidence of that is the fact that now the kind of conversations r happening, people r thinking about the kind of content they're being shown and they're realizing the power of the media and it's influence over their lives, which I think proves that we r growing and evolving and even though it's a slow process, it's a continuous one and will give results.
