Even though she might be considered a "shoneen" (or "race traitor") to her own brethren, she is still supportive of the cause of defending her motherland from the invasion of Alan's legions.
(Seriously though, in spite of her being labelled using a term referring to Anglophile Irish people, she is in fact mostly interested in French opera, and her concept is somewhat inspired by the classic novel "The Phantom of the Opera")
