    For a self confessed mechanic who stuffs around on lathes and milling machines on the weekend, you're not bad. Have learnt a thing or two off you over the years. Well done. Self taught machinist/mechanic/fabricator in the ol' convict colony.

    You should make a little inspection plate to go over the hole. Louver it if you need air flow.

    John, if you find it lets oil out into that housing then just replace that outer bearing with a sealed one, you can even take the inner seal off it so it’s still oil fed, but the outer seal should be enough to stop anything leaking out (it’s a trick I’ve used on a few vintage motorbike gearboxes before).

    Probably should cover up that access hole. Wouldn't want any shite to get in there. Do a "boiler cladding" approach. That job looks GREAT!! Should last for many years.

    Great job John I think you and Bob should design a pubic hair micrometer then collect said hairs and turn it into a thickness colour chart ginger blonde black brown etc with the size beside them then we would know the tolerance your talking about if your reading this your as bloody daft as me 😂 keep them coming John 👍👨🏻‍🏭😂
