Agreed. Most people experienced the GWOT the same way they did The Office or the Olympics. It was entertaining and distracting from real life. They don't know what war is. They don't know what a civil war looks like. It won't be like watching the conquest of Bagdad on TV. But by the time they realize the fantasy they had been fed by grifters was a lie, it'll be too late, and the world will be in chaos.

Thank you. Both for your service and for speaking out. I have quietly spent the last 3 years afraid that our country is on. 1-way track to war with itself. I read bravado and posts that amount to civil war fantasy porn from people who have no idea the horrors that await. In a civil war, there is no right and wrong, only violence and trying to survive. I have never served in the military and I don't own weapons. I am not religious and I know there are many Americans who would disagree with my politics. But I am also American and I love my country and I don't want to see it torn apart because of forced outrage over political and cultural divisions that are purposely sowed on TV and the Internet to divide us and keep a few in power. I hope everyone sees this movie and wakes up to the path we're on. There is no glory in a civil war. Only death, suffering, and unspeakable acts of violence that will destroy even the lucky ones who survive.

The rest of both of those states (the ones that actually have guns, and know how to use them) are all red. Give them a common enemy, and youd be surprised what could happen

Nah, it’s actually a brilliant move. The cast & crew talked about how parts are intentionally left vague in order to allow the audience to individually interpret and project its own impressions upon the film.
If it were blatantly right vs left, inevitably at least one (or both) side would call it “biased”/“propaganda”/etc. and dismiss it outright.
Instead, *the approach allows for the film to focus on the main plot-ie the sheer carnage, violence, tragedy, devastation, and collapse of society that would happen in a civil war-regardless of the specific political beliefs of each side.*
That’s because all the soft as baby shit left would be dead within the first week lol.

What was a real stretch in the movie was the idea of Canadian dollars being more valuable than American dollars. Never happen as Cad dollars are completely tied to USA currency. There dollar fails so will Canada's.
It wasn't terrible nor, great. The film direction if anything should get an award. I could see a series being based off this. Going into more depth on the various characters in the movie that didn't get much screen time.
I liked that they didn't explain everything and everyone. Mos def not a by-the-book story.

We did just fine, and we helped out own without the likes of you or the people from your state, or the federal government. We handled our own, something someone like you could never fathom much less accomplish.
And, if you were even half as smart or tough as you think you are, youd have recognized the only people that couldnt "bear" without electricity and internet were the cities like Austin, Houston, and Dallas (all blue cities). In a war scenario those people would die off fast, and we as a state would be better of for it. The same would happen in Cali, and an alliance between the two would almost be inevitable, as most of Cali that isnt populated blue cities is pretty damned red.
Unless youre from Cali, our state dwarfs yours in comparison, in: size, economy (6th largest in the entire world, Cali being 5th), and guns (not to mention those that know how to actually use them). We are huge in ag/beef/fishing/oil/ore/production, we have several of the largest ports in the entire country. We have tons and some of the biggest Army/Navy/Airforce/Marines/National Guard/Coast Guard bases in the nation. And, we have several Militias. Were the only state in the nation that has everything we could possibly need.
If you dont recognize that Texas is a force to be reckoned with, THE force to be reckoned with, than youre just an ignorant hater that either refuses to or are incapable of recognizing whats just been said to you.

There are some incredible journalists out there. The whole world isn’t out to get you.
The next Civil War would be urban/cities against rural areas. Particularly in a place like California. Only criminals have guns in those cities, so they would just turn inward and victimize the daylights out of average citizens even more than they actually do now. Which is tough to imagine. All the food and all the privately owned guns exist out in the countryside. Same same for military veterans with actual experience and trigger time. Blockade the cities. (Not hard to do. Truck drivers would voluntarily not go, anyway.) Most American households have only nine meals worth of food. The whole thing could be done with very little violence in under a week. California and Texas in a military alliance…. Good one!
