Don't be afraid. This experiment has been spent absolutely safely. The interdiction for using the navigator was only at a take off and landing. In the flight rest of the time it was allowed. And maps were loaded before flight via WiFi. Without GSM a network phone does not radiate a signal. :-)

@jetairteam yeah, actually you can use your phone while flying. The only exceptions are while landing and taking off
Yes. You must remove marks in GPS settings (disable XTRA server and turn off SNTP server)

I have simply viewed those parts of a map which wanted by WiFi. Not always in a window there can be enough satelites.

Yes. But I download maps in advance. I wait about 5 minutes, while satelites to lock.
It was another program. Navitel navigator. Not free.
@jetairteam mythbusters already proved there is nothing wrong with turning your phone on while flying.
