Part 42: The Valve Spindles and Guides

Welcome to Part 42 of my long term series of videos covering the build of Don Young's Hunslet 0-6-0 Saddle Tank Locomotive in 5" Gauge.
In this video I make the Steam Valves Spindles and Spindle Guides.
Please note, the valve spindle needs a groove for an O Ring, but before machining it, I need to read up on using O Rings this way 🙂
Given the nature of these sorts of projects, new videos will be posted as I progress through the build but there will be no regular cadence, rather their frequency will be dependent upon time available and of course real progress on my part.

Hi Mark well these little issues are there to keep us on our toes. It's amazing if one follows the plans there are still a mountain of little problems. They are designed that way to ensure we seek out our local for a consult and a scrip ( that prescribes several large pints) for mental pain relief. Happy recovery.

A really interesting series of videos - as an ex smoker "Rizla" papers still serve a purpose in my workshop for what youve presented - but didnt know about oiling them - good tip👍

Hi Mark your fair churning vids out at the moment. With the pin issue thin the inside of the lever and turn square countersink ( forgot the correct term) and fit the pin from the inside
