  • Welcome to Part 54 of my long term series of videos covering the build of Don Young's Hunslet 0-6-0 Saddle Tank Locomotive in 5" Gauge.
In this video, I make the Brake Shoes.
Given the nature of these sorts of projects, new videos will be posted as I progress through the build but there will be no regular cadence, rather their frequency will be dependent upon time available and of course real progress on my part.
If you like what you see, please do give me a thumbs up and subscribe.
    Enjoy!

Another useful video Mark I like the idea of making the shoes in a ring first

Is it me but the first time you drill into your faceplate there is a feeling of deep dissapointment?
but once its done for the first time its a more versitie tool in the future and can be modified many times to every kind of job...

      Hi Brendan, an interesting question.
After having had a particularly sketchy set up on the faceplate "let go" and take some significant chunks outs of the (so called "hardened") lathe bed a while back , I had no qualms.
But I do understand what you mean :-)
      Cheers, Mark
