      Varun Karkhanis I have watched today's grandparents with their grand children and I can see/feel the difference.
      Though I don't remember any of my gran as they all passed away when I was quite young, I remember how loving they were..Back in those days they knew how to love kids..
      Today it's all about competition and making money. All the ads and movies have become loud and noisy rather than musical

    the current generation kids and teenagers cant fathom that what greatness of TV media we have enjoyed,capt vyom,mogli,nukad,tarang,tehkikat,alif laila,chandrakanta,vikram vaital,shaktiman many more.
    we had serial of every genre(war,science,fiction,cartoons etc)despite of having just 1 channels(DOORDARSHAN)
    at present tv sets are really an idiot box and serials like kabbhi saans bhi bahu thi are ruining lives of many.
    i just wish doordarshan glorious days somehow get back and we all are taken back into the golden times where even advertisement were equally enjoyed.

    90s was a magical time. In today's world, we are all running after materialistic gains and losing the very purpose of life. It was not the case in the 90s, back then we had a life. Now we only have smartphones, tablets and facebook friends, which are worth for nothing. I wish I could dump this artificial world around me and take resort to the 90s. Thanks very much for the compilation.

      you are so true... I was born in Dec 85 and have spent my childhood and some part of teens in the 90's. Man o man I dearly miss those days...... So stressed, so depressing and so boring is today's life. Smartphones, Computers, other such devices and specially social networking has killed the real excitement of life. Humans were good when there were no mobile phones and computers were only seen at work or office.... Today our lifestyle is slowly but surely making the human race reach its doom and soon there will be a day when we will start thinking about it but may b it will be too late.

      @ashutoshhegde7290 Před 10 lety

      Supriyo Das Though I agree with you there is something you are missing, the 90s was also a technological new era to people born in the 60s and 70s and ( and maybe even 50s) where they would say' We had a better life without tv and mtv and these stupid srk movies...life was so simple back then listening to vividh bharti'. The things you are talking about - smartphones and tablets and whatsapp/fb have some negatives to it- there are lot of positives to it as well, you can connect very easily to people. For someone like myself out of India, I can very very easily connect to my parents and relatives and friends in India within a minute if I want to as opposed to someone in the 90s who would have to run ISDs ( expensive) and send handwritten letters and photos by snail mail, a person abroad would be as good as unreachable unlike today. Technology has both advantages and disadvantages, and while you do mention the disadvantages, you totally forgot about the advantages- One of it is that today you are able to use youtube( which is one of the other technological advances of our generation) to view these old ADS and comment on it :P

    • @SD-ty4mo
      @SD-ty4mo Před 10 lety +10

      Ashutosh Hegde buddy you didn't get it. I'm not against technology. It's quite evident that old technologies would be replaced by new and more advanced ones. But the point I'm making here is the role of technology. During the 90s we had television set, we had telephone, we had music system, we had Nintendo and we had xerox machine. But none of these technologies changed human interaction. We knew how to separate them from our lives. But now smartphone/tablet, facebook and whatsapp have created a virtual world around us that is counter-productive and consuming precious time. I see people around me using their smarphones every time. They don't have time to acknowledge what's going on around them. I see people are comfortable talking to each other over chat but not in real life.
      You gave example of CZcams. There are thousands of videos on CZcams where the uploader posted how his dog is standing on two legs and those videos are getting millions of hits. What purpose are these videos serving? Do you know how many work hours are wasted every year because of Facebook? Technology is supposed to solve problem. What problem pointless conversations on Facebook and Whatsapp are solving?
      Technology is for the betterment of life, but our lives revolve around these so-called technologies. That's the worry.

    I am a 1990's kid and I remember almost all of these ads. Except for the paltry few which I couldn't recall, I was able to instantly recall any ad as soon as it started playing!
    I absolutely miss those days, and like many users have already commented, ours is possibly the last generation to have actually enjoyed childhood! When I see parks in my neighborhood empty, I do feel that time has changed a lot in the past two and a half decades. We are the only generation to have transitioned between the traditional and modern ways of childhood! And we are the only generation that were "children" across two millennia! Be proud, all you 90's people!!!

    I was born in 1988 & truly i feel blessed. Me & those of my generation have actually watched the transition of the developing technology. Those from an earlier time had a different kind of enjoyment, but probably we are one of the rarest kind who enjoyed the change that happened... Today the world is much more "smarter", but probably the price that it is paying is the unadulterated childhood...

    I was born in the year 1996.My childhood days go back to the mid 2000s. But I still feel nostalgic as some of these ads were even aired in the 2000s.Those days are surely gone forever.But I can proudly cherish 1 thing that I was a child of the 90s.Today's children are much inclined to smartphones,computer games,etc.Only the children of 90s enjoyed those golden days when the earth was naturally much quiet and people were much down to earth.Thanks 2 Mr.Gunge & youtube for relieving the old memories.

    How can we forget these beautiful commercials on doordarshan .They cater our past in front of us in split seconds.Other notable mentions include Rangoli, Chitrahaar, duck tales, street hawk, Ek se badkar ek, Junoon, Swabhimaan, Shanti, Byomkesh bakshi, Turning point,Surabhi, Sri krishna, Jai hanuman, Om namah sivay, suraag,aparajitha, Ithihaas and so forth ...Some of them were already mentioned by other friends....literally we used to long for these episodes...the glory is gone...its lost somewhere with our child hood...missing that decade very much
