I love it when someone does something they like, and then do the effort of sharing it with the world, for other people to be inspired by it. Thanks for a work well done :)
They get paid for it man!
I’ve painted several of these, based on her video here. The best ones come out in the colors she uses here. I’ve tried reds and yellows and even grays, but the blue green brown white is gorgeous.
Years later and this is still a great lesson 👍
I didnt do exactly what you did but watched, borrowed and took from. I couldnt have done it without you! My painting is coming along great!
Amy Pearce, You did an outstanding job. You're very talented and I wanted to thank you for sharing your abilities and showing us how to paint, how to do the background, and in your other videos, how to blend to make light hitting the subject and painting beautiful paintings. I can't express enough how much I appreciate you taking the time to share and even with your hands so full already with your beautiful baby. Don't know that I could do that but you did it and did it so well. Thank you, Thank you, Thankyou,
PS: Please don't let these jealous people get you down with something as trivial as a smoke alarm. I'm sure that it's something that is hard to get turned off or you'd have gotten to it. We've all gone through it at one time or another. Just the fact that you can share your talents with us is super amazing. You did a really great job.Okay? I mean it; some day you'll see that other people just get rude at such stupid things just to make themselves feel better when they, in fact, will be having so much more going on in their own environment that they can't fathum how to deal with it. That's just my opinion. Hugs and keep up the great work, Please.
Thank YOU for watching!
I have to say, I have never seen so many amazing ideas. Very creative!!!
Ok tried with acrylics and water it is certainly a beginners task. It came out well. I do recommend getting a big sponge like the one she has in the video. I used regular dish washing sponges and fared well. Mine didn't come out as good as hers but it was certainly a learning experience.
Thanks for sharing this technique Amy. I used sort of the same colours then when background was dry, I painted almost black rocks around the bottom edge, some small reef fish again in black for silhouette and then a reef shark in the centre of the painting against the central light colour. Looks good and all from you sharing, thanks 👍
This works awesome, especially with oils. After the sea sponge I used a rag to smooth it out. Thanks. Now to paint something on it.
I'm painting an ocean scene for my Earth Systems teacher. So this is really helpful! Thank you!
WOW!!! Amazing! You totally worked magic.
For acrylics it's better if you use airbrush medium because water will make it peel off
Stunning!!! Love your videos! Thank you for sharing!👍🏻🧡
reminds me of being under water and looking up to resurface. beautiful!
I made one. Turned out really good. Thanks! keep posting more tutorials
Thank you! This was a very helpful video - I have to do a background like this and was intimidated on how I should tackle it - this was a brilliant solution!
Wow. I love this! Thank you so much. I'll be trying this ASAP.
Oh my gosh! This is absolutely beautiful! I would love to give this a try someday! I just might! I'm not sure!
That is great. I love how much people love to criticize in these comments. I don't see any of them taking the time to make videos to show off their skills. Thank you for your time and tips.
I'm watching this video again and again. So satisfying!
Such a lovely tutorial. Saved me tones of time :) thank you. Haven't even noticed that beeping until read first comment...

I love your videos. Thanks for sharing your talent.
love this! ✨
No problem!
luv ur art...thanks for sharing!!
You made that look easy. Nice one.
IDK about with oil paint, but with Acrylic you can use "Thalo" green(which is really cheating but eh, it's even more turquoise than that painting up there) black and white. the brown green and blue are fine too but there's something to be said about the artificial pop of a good thalo green :)
Would you apply the colors to the canvas in the same fashion as the video? Black around the edges...then Thalo green, then white in the middle?

Hi Amy, love your paintings. You are very talented! I enjoy watching your vids as a lot of other people do too. I understand that you are busy but couldn't you find the time to answer any of our questions cuz that would be a nice thing to do. You obviously have a lot of fans and we love your art work but it kinda feels like you don't really care about the people WHO are INTERESTED in learning how to paint since you don't answer any of their questions. But keep doing what your doing, you are amazing at what you do :) just make some time to answer your fans.
Hey Kim, pls check my tutorial and give ur valuable feedback czcams.com/video/CPW8yH7cK-Y/video.html...also if any doubts i would be happy to help

Amy your painting are wonderful!! I have never painted before and now because of your magical way of teaching I'm doing Perdy good! I do have one question, the blue piece u used what was that. I see you switched from a sponge to that and u got this vibrant glowin background that I have been striving for
Thank you this is amazing, I will be trying this. I love the colors they are so dam beautiful against the black thank you for sharing. You have any more tips and tricks?
Cool! thanks for sharing
Love this and want to do it in acrylic but can’t tell me what kind of blue and green and white specifically to get this color? Would it be the same if u just used bright aqua?
Hi Amy,
Do we have to soak the sponge or should it be used dry ?
Thanks
people of youtube, please change out your batteries in the smoke detectors
LMFAO I thought that was mine beeping! xD
AMEN i love her tutorials but that infernal beeping drives me friggin nuts!
Jessica Badeaux
Me too! I kept going back into my hallway and standing there waiting for the beep.. But, nothing from my detectors.. Darn surround sound!.. XD
Agree , I hear it all the time in videos.
Yes, I keep forgetting because I've tuned it out.
Please, Amy, tell me when do you use acrylics and when do you use oils for the background? I mean what version is more beautiful and sustainable? Thank you.
Lovely and clear thank you
I love this so much ❤️
Thank you!! beautiful

First of all awesome technique. Thank you. Looks like you have used 3 different types of sponges. I got the first one. Which are the other 2 and where can I find them? Thank you again.
