The first was a free concert in Oakland Calif in 1983 they did songs from the Cameosis album their prior albums as well as the new stuff...They were on the same bill as Midnight Star who at that time owned the charts...Cameo blew them away, other than The Time the best live band I have ever seen perform hands down. Facts.... The song Shake Your Pants turned it out had all of Oakland partying.

But I'll try: Cameo; Barkays; Parliament (3); Funkadelic (3); Bootsy & the Rubber Bands (3); Larry Graham & Graham Central Station; War; Mandrill; EW&F; Ramsey Lewis; Phyllis Hyman; Roy Ayers; Al Jarreau; Brothers Johnson; Natalie Cole; The Ohio Players; The Isley Brothers; Eddie Kendricks; The Ojays; Midnight Star; Marvin Gaye (one of his last concerts before he died); and a few more that don't come to mind right now. I regret never seeing Michael Jackson or Prince or Stevie Wonder. But most of these performers gave great concerts and the music sound just like or better than the recordings. The O'jays and EW&F gave exceptional concerts.

Aaron Mills and Charlie singleton the backbone of cameo's sound, those cats were so intricate and just extremely important components there rhythm parts were always so way over the top, brother charlie guitar sound and solos very insightful and bone chilling,and brother Aaron those muscular bass lines really stood at attention that in my head definitely defined CAMEO'S music 🎵
Cameo was awesome 👏🏾 back then but now it’s different now and it’s not the same anymore but it’s still good 👍🏾 and it’s carrying the legacy of the legendary group that is Cameo!

Personally I always thought Tomi was by far the superior vocalist in Cameo but he never felt the need to broadcast this fact because of his humility. Don't get me wrong I love Larry but I believe he felt the need to always be front and center because he knew Tomi was better. Maybe I'm wrong... but Tomi Jenkins you are truly one of the greatest RnB male vocalist's to ever grace the stage!!!

I loved me some Cameo!!! I saw them perform twice maybe three times. But Cameo gave the best concerts!!! Back then, they would throw joints into the audience. I hate I missed catching one; lol. Back then, everyone was about having fun and being kind to one another. So no one was worried about getting shot; poisoning joints; and going to jail. All we wanted to do was party and have a good time. Two of my favorite older hits by them is "Post Mortem" and "Rigor Mortis". Post Mortem was played in the movie, "Next Friday" starring Ice Cube. "Sparkle" and "I Just Want To Be" were good hits for them. But "She's Strange" was a transition hit for them with a jazz flavor. Then "Candy" and "Single Life" came out and then "Word Up was another transition hit for them. They hung around for a number of years until now. If you want to see them, you have to catch a concert if they haven't stopped doing concerts already.
I seen ‘em live in SF at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, in Jan or Feb of ‘06. It was off the chain! It was unreal! It was a old school funk fest. Had them guys from Vallejo there(Con FunkShun), if I remember right, Lakeside was there too. We had a great time!!!
