Watch this video to help me build my UDE kit and also Everytime you said "predatOBR" I took a shot of whiskey, good video dude !
You know how to use the torque wrench correctly at 90 degree angle! See, all! Most apply 50 percent over with 180 degree angle. Thank you for a great block of instruction.
J. P. Thanks!
J. P. It's nowhere near 50%...but yeah...there's a difference for sure. The barrel nut wrench would have to be half as long (50%) as the torque wrench to increase the value by 50%. In reality it's about 1/10th the length from drive to pivot. Which = only a 10% increase. You would have to be using a 5" torque wrench for your numbers to be correct... & I doubt that is the case. But it is a factor that some people don't account for.
Could you please explain this a little more? If I understand you correctly, the actual reading on the wrench will be something other than (in the case of the barrel nut) something other than 50 ft-lbs?
Good job buddy and to hell with all these people saying shit.. you put out a video to try and help people and did a good job! Rock on!
Great video partner.
FYI the muzzle brake that comes with the 6.5 grendel kit is a .260/6.5 specific brake, (NOT for .308) even though the threads are 5/8-24
What's the difference in using the .260 brake over .30 brake?
LeadSlinger0311 the bore diameter is smaller than the .30 that is normal for muzzle devices of this thread pitch. You don't want to put it on a .308 for example
Kameron For the lower what else do you need, I see the trigger assembly but no mag carrier or release. I’m a little confused this is my first build
I was hoping for a Larue "6.5", or "Grendel" edition hat to come with orders... Looks like my FDE 6.5 should be here this week. If it's machined half as well as my 7.62 OBR I'll be very happy. Interesting to hear that the Brake is .260, I was hoping it was .30 so I could sell/trade it, as I'll be putting on a Silencerco. Nice vid.
Matt Snow same here!
Ha! Im looking at the “chassis” where the FCG and grip are installed on and thinking to myself “wow, did AR lowers just become modular?” Thanks for clarification!
Well looks like I’m buying this kit. I didn’t know they sold this. What a deal!
sk8erdude1 I may or may not have 3.... And planning on a 4th. You should check out the large frame kits!
A large frame kit?
I’m not familiar with that term.
Does that mean pistol grip size?
Or an ar 10 frame?
Kind of on the fence if I want to spend 99 for fde or just black I’m assuming this is a cerakoted finish vs me and a rattle can job.
sk8erdude1 ar10. 260 Remington, 6.5 creedmoor, 308 are available
Befits to the ar 10 frame with 6.5 Grendel? Mags?
Benefits
Nice video. Thanks for taking the time to produce. I don’t think you are suppose to use your torque wrench to loosen screws. Only to tighten them. It is bad for the torque wrench.
NOTE*** Barrel wrench is attached to the torque wrench in the vertical configuration. if you attach in the horizontal direction you will over torque it.
So is he doing it correct in the video?
Nice video. Well done.
Thanks, did you order one too?
Yes, sir. 20" 5.56. Scheduled to arrive on Monday. :)
First larue? Ive got hits on a 10" plate past 600 yards with cheap 55gr ammo through my 16" Tobr. You will be deadly with that 20"
I have more than a half dozen MBTs and a barrel or two. A LT rifle has been on my list for a long time. This is my first Larue upper. I hope that the lowers become an option in the future.
Both my OBR and PredatAR came with chrome bolt carriers. In the video that one almost looks brown or light black, do you know what the coating is?
I use too comb the AR15.com LaRue page a lot, but haven’t been on in quite some time.
seems to be a standard mil spec BCG. The new large frame upper kits come with the made in house Chrome BCG
Sick!!
are you able to make the stock fixed? I live in CA where its considered evil to have an adjustable stock...
Get a Maglock and Kingpin pin set. Will allow you to have all the "evil features" in CA
This may be a stupid question but I'm new to this. How do you install that pistol grip with the trigger and all to the lower? It's all one unit and I don't see how it fits a lower?
Jake Peterson I may do another video. It's fairly simple. You can search "how to assemble lower"
Kameron A I think I was confused by it coming in a template piece. Thanks for the help. How accurate is it? Worth spending that much cash over the aero precision Upper?
Jake Peterson anything larue is worth it! I only put 1 mag through it so far from a crappy shooting position and it was right at 1moa. I expect it to be better when I can lay prone.
How much did it run you ??
Did the kit come with instructions?
Just to let u know, when you have the barrel nut wrench angled like that, your torque values change when it's not in line with the torque wrench. Just a heads up. There is formulas to figure out the new torque values
Wrong
Is there a La Roux ultimate upper kit lower installation video?
I know the LaRue rifles come with a sub MOA guarantee. Does this also apply to the Ultimate Upper?
negative, even if you pay the extra to have it assembled and test fired, it will not come with a test target. this guaranty gaurantee only comes with full rifles
My stealth upper came with a test target and the Larue website says they are guaranteed sub MOA. Oddly the "Upper Kit" doesn't seem to be the same
Is the gas block adjustable? It looks like it is since they ship a suppressor ready brake.
Charlie L no, it is not adjustable
Charlie L it might be a little over gassed so I got a fast buster charging handle but it won't mess up the function of the rifle
Finally i know how to assemble it>
mbxer2006 now you just have to wait a few weeks for the backorders to catch up
did yours ship yet?
No not yet I have been looking at my email
Why did you go with dickmod over mlok? Or was that just not a thing three years ago
“Dickmod” was the only option when the UUK first came out
What lower?
Larue takes their sweet ass time shipping these kits and stripped lowers. Be prepared for EXTREMELY long wait times for these kits. It took 3 months to get mine and I’m still waiting for the lower. All I get is bs when I call Larue. There’s other brands that’s are just as good. Buyers beware!
Strange how it works out sometimes, I ordered a 7.62 upper kit in FDE on 2/17 and just got tracking #'s today for a 3/7 delivery. I thought I was in for a 6-8 week wait.
Good luck on getting the matching lower that quick. I’m still waiting. They’re getting reminder phone calls every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I wish I could say my experience was similar. Thanks Brad.
My upper kit arrived in 20 days. Still waiting for the lower of course.
I probably love Larue products as much as anybody but the LONG WAIT for a part I've already paid for and very little if NO communication is BS. I ordered their MBT trigger kit and after I paid for the part (online via credit card) I was advised it was on BACKORDER. I was very frustrated so I sent an email and was advised that it would be "2-3 weeks" before shipping the trigger set out to me. I then read a review (one of several) of the trigger from I believe "Truth About Guns" and the author waited 3 months for his trigger to arrive. I KNOW- very long story - but cancelling my order and getting my crediting my card for the amount plus shipping was a horrible experience. I don't believe the owner of the company is aware of these issues. Unfortunately I won't be ordering anything more from LT. I've heard EXCELLENT things about their firearms, parts, and LE/Military Classes.
To be fair and to also add to my earlier comment- I've heard the exact same thing in reference to other "high end" ar15 rifle manufacturers in the USA. Their seems to be long waits for parts/accessories from other high end manufacturers. About all of my close relatives own Larue Tactical rifles except one and (he owns a Daniel Defense) are quite satisfied. I told my nephews that I had ordered the MBT trigger and I heard NOTHING negative. I know they have ordered numerous LT parts in addition to their rifles. Oh well- this is long winded and just wanted to add this.

0:57..."that" is a "dust cover"
no shit
Dude WTF
Is it possible to buy this kit without all the political literature shit they throw in the box?
Dude. your dead pan, no voice modulation, would put anyone to sleep! Good grief!
Rich Chel thank you for your comments, Rich. Enjoy your Sunday morning as well

U must be one of those dudes who eats a certain cereal because it has commercials with a cartoon mascot who’s all animated, crazy, and seemingly high on meth because it’s the only way to get through to you.
