Sketching a VW Beetle

  • This is a time lapse of a sketch that took about 28 minutes in real time at Speedway Auto Wrecking in Dacono, Colorado. I used a Hero M86 fude (or bent) nib fountain pen and a Kuretake water brush filled with diluted Noodler’s Lexington Gray fountain pen ink in an Etchr hot press sketchbook.

    Have you used wash with Payne’s gray?

      Yes, I’ve used Daniel Smith Payne’s Gray but I found it to be too cool, more of a gray-blue. The Lexington is a very neutral gray, right down the middle.
