Building Tile Shower Pan With Drain Close to Wall --- FloFX Drain and Heated Floor

- čas přidán 7. 09. 2024
- Most of the shower pans we float have the drain in the center of the floor. Sometimes you might need to put the drain at one end of the floor due to existing plumbing locations or type of tile. We like to use the FloFX bonding flange drain and grates. It is better than the Schluter Kerdi Bonding Flange.
If there is no heated floor going in the shower, the adjustment is simple: just screed right off the top of the bonding flange.

I'm thankful for all of the details you allow us to see in your videos. On top of that you explain everything you're doing.
Do this a lot for when I remove 1 piece tub/shower and customer wants a custom shower. Always slope mine like that, good work
At first i was thinking... man this guy is slow... But that finish is PERFECT! well done sir
As a licensed contractor myself, I have to say that paying the money to get competent valuable coaching from Isaac is the fastest & cheapest way to save yourself from catastrophic failures. The opportunity & service Isaac offers is so valuable that I’ll still pay for his direct advice all day long.
thanks for this video, and all the details and work experience you shared, thanks again
Is there a next step video?? Have watched a lot of your videos, great content but haven’t seen one with waterproofing a mud pan, with ditra heat and Flo fx drain
Great viewing for a Friday evening 🤟👊💜😂🇨🇦
Just nothing better than watching perfection.
I would love to see a future video of the Ditra applied to this multi-sloped pan. Great video!
Cool man, I'm hooked.
I wanna see the Ditra mat go down. 🤟
Love your work. And your hats are awesome. How the heck do you keep them so clean? LOL
Whats the white cement paste you put down before the screed? Bond slurry, what make?
He is saying that the top of the heat cable mat/de-coupling mat needs to fall in plane with the top of the Flo Fx. This is so that the water proofing membrane can bond smoothly over both the de-coupling mat and the bonding surface of the Flo Fx. You don't want water to be able to run up under the de-coupling membrane.
you are Good, continue to improve in everything GOD BLESS YOU.
maybe flofx can come up with a topper. like after your done floating to the top of drain theres another topper part of the drain that snaps in or is glued to the bottom drain to make up the difference of the ditra...i call it FlowDx
Great video! Very informative
Wow i just did that kind of drain just grouted and left 5 min ago its 10:54 pm long day..
Always enjoy your videos! Keep up the good work. What kind of deck mud do you prefer?
Isaac.. if you were going to build a shower today at your house and you wanted it to be worry free and last years and years.. What method pan would you use ?
You can find strips like that at HD, that they have to separate their 2x lumber.
Hey Brother, you like a surgeon. Keep up the great posts 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🤩
You do nice work my man.
I hope we get to see the tiling!
Why no pan liner in this process? DIYer trying to understand.
Bloody gorgeous.
Again, what was the fat mud called?
What is the open time on this product?
🙏
Dang sensei, you make it look easy! if anybody wants to check out my first ever DYI bathroom remodel it's on my channel, I owe a lot of the tile work knowledge and my mud pan skills to this man right here, thanks a ton I used the beginner mud pan video using pieces of wood like you show here to screed straight.
Where do you get those mixing bags?
Respect
Kicks ass. More stabila and megalite. Thanks
Thank you for the video, I found out that investing is not for everybody, you just need a strong stomach too see your portfolio go down. It might be wiser for a novice to start with copy trading investing, but it is not easy. To invest in growth stocks it is another level, definitely you need to know what are you doing.
From my own point of view, you need to invest smartly if you need the good things of life. so far i've made over $255k in raw profits from just 6 months into the market from my diversified portfolio strategy and i believe anyone can do it you have the right strategy, mutual funds takes long time but investing smartly is the key for short term. Most of us tend to pay more attention to the shiniest position in the market to the cost of proper diversification.
This is a phenomenal advice for a new stock traders and investors who want that quick short term game, but don't see the light at the end of the tunnel.
@@bobschriswell565I've been solely investing in real estate. But with the recent hyper home pricing i've liquidated a few things and have $45k in cash laying around idle. Would love to get your recommendations, I'm in search of something lucrative in the current crazy markets, i will be glad.
My portfolio is very much diversified so it's not like i have a particular fund i invest in, plus i dont do that by myself. i follow the trades of Mrs Karen Gaye Gray.
She is a popular broker you might have heard of. I can correctly say she's worth her salt as a financial advisor as her diversification skills are top notch, because i see that in her results as my portfolio grows by averages of 10 to 15% on a monthly basis, unlike i can say for my IRA which has just been trudging along, my portfolio just mirrors what she trades and not just on some particular industries of my choosing.
I have not any problem with the schluter drain breaking a bond if you have sturdy support under it I have four of them in my house for years with no problem you just need to do a proper installation

Hey Isaac what are those mixing tubs and where can I get them
Cool! Question, do you need a bond coat before deck mud?
I thought you do if going on concrete.
This man has monster skills. Should be illegal in some areas 😂
Heated shower floor.. perfect for people who don’t have 5-10 seconds to run the shower before stepping in.
Electricity and water, what can go wrong?
I'm so sick of putting ditra-heat in shower pans 😅
DIdn't know ditra heat is allowed in shower, most of electric heating system i see are not allowed
Mind changing the title of the vid that you critiqued a homeowner on? The title is harsh to say the least.
He has a few videos where he critiques a homeowner (it’s part of his channel doing so). May want to be more specific since none of them really stand out as harsh.
You put screws way to low. The pan will leak. But you seem like a good dude.
what kinda thinset do u use when flat trowling around the drain flange, unmoidified or modified? or would lht laticrete bond well with those flanges and be ok for for install? really enjoyed this pour with the drain flange u have been using...its been a game changer for interchangable waterproofing methods. 😉
Modified for all stages.
Unmodified is an OLD manufacturer spec.
LHT (large heavy tile) thinset will work to bond the concrete and dry pack. Even though that's not what it's intended for.
@@larrys5733 yeah, but if it requires ansi 118.1 it's due to the polymers not drying in ansi 118.4 which is a modified thinset. All of that crap from schluter that confused everyone and forced people to buy their over priced thinset. Perhaps I should go back and read the box 😆..i think my question was slightly rhetorical, considering he most likely is going to use a modified. Just curious which product he went with for the drain.
@RawTakes that's very old news. Really. Schluter ALL-Set IS Polymer modified mortar. Ansi118.15. Recommended for use in all stages.
Find any mortar that is .15 or better and you're ok.
The LHT is 118.4, so I would not use it to bond directly to plywood.
But as a bonder for dry pack over concrete, sure. If that's all I had
@@larrys5733 it's weird how they say use unmodified while installing over the kerdi but their allset is modified lol. Just sounds gimmicky, like a carsales men tactic to get u to overpay. Not a huge fan of schluter. Appreciate the insight from another installer, I have never directly installed over plywood and will never. Unless they don't want a warranty and want to pay me in cash lol. The lht seems to be just fine with my installation process.
Multi max lite is the best thing for that application super sticky
