I own two of these. I'm currently in the process of adding a cartridge port to one of them, and I'm going to give it to a friend who doesn't have an Atari.

Just got it off Amazon, and according to the manual, this version of Pong is actually compatible with the paddle controllers! One of your favorite versions of Pong just got better all of a sudden!

There are also a few hidden games that use the paddle control. Will have to input a code to access them.

I've had the desire to get a Flashback 2 for a while. Actually seen a modded one on eBay a while back with the cartridge port. I agree put the Flashback 2 at the top of the list. :-)

Flashback 2 is the only one (aside from my portable) that I have ever liked. Great review bud.

Really? I'm pretty happy with my 8, whichever flavor comes with paddle controllers. What am I missing, other than support for original cartridges or ROMs?

When I turn mine on it just sits on the adventure territory screen and I can't do anything... I've tried other controllers, power adapters and still nothing happens. Bummer

My Flashback 2 also has a lot of visual errors, I was worried it was just mine. Maybe it's just the design. I'm still proud to own what feels like an ancient piece of history xD

Totally worth it, as even a A/V modded original 2600 usually doesn't quite look as clear.

  • @johneygd

That atari flashback 2 looks waaay better then the atari flashback 7 wich i do own,may ask why, because the flashback 7 has no complete woodgrain finish like this one,
The only thing i consider a huge improvement (wich makes me do wish the original atari 2600 controllers had)is that those flashback 7 controllers do contain a select, pause and reset buttons on them sothat you don’t have to get off your caugh to do so😁
But other then that it’s a shame that pac man isn’t included,no sega or nintendo games(altrough i do understand that that would add to the price because of licensing costs, but still,,,)
    ☹️

What did you use to gamecap this? I have a couple AV consoles that my gamecap device just will not output a signal back to the TV. This is one of them. I have tried using an AV to HDMI converter, and while that does work the video signal gets muddied up with artifacts.
