@@danicahannah9159 wala pong board exam pero kapag microbiology major ka or nag uniting ka pwede ka mag take ng Certification para maging Registered Micro. In add, may ilang company na nag bibigay ng professional fee kapag nag work ka as micro analyst (Registered micro or not) but you need to pass the PF exam in some instances.

Hello! 1st year Bs Biology student here. Seriously, same lang tayo di ko inisip yung jobs after kasi nakatingin lang ako sa future HAHAHAHA pero ayun nga for practicality, I think you should look at other courses like Med-tech/Radtech and Respi or even Nursing kasi alam naman natin na, mas madaling makahanap ng trabaho dun, however, if you really wanna pursue medicine or proceed to masters degree then take it! 🤩💅

I'm a BS Biology graduate and I can say yes it is difficult to have a job that youll love especially that your prior plan was to become a doctor. The reason why I took up BS Biology was I wanted to pursue Medicine but for some reasons, plans changed. Now I'm in the path of teaching career. But i cant deny na, gusto ko pa rin talaga maabot ung pangarap ko na maging isang doctor. I should have pursued Nursing instead para kahit hindi ako BS Bio, more chances to be in Medical Industry.

@@haronbusran4138 Hello po! I took up units in teaching. After that nag apply na ako as a Science Teacher in private school. If you really want to continue your teaching journey for long, take Licensure Exam for Teachers para makalipat ng public school. Mas marami rin po kasi benefits pag nasa public school. Pwede k rin naman mag apply as a Science/Biology teacher po kahit wala ka pa units in teaching sa mga private schools. :))

I'm so really confused if nursing or biology, since I don't have much money to take the course I want. Do you think it costs more on biology than nursing? It's also hard for me to get a scholarship because no matter how hard I try to raise my grades, our instructors will give me low grades even my others classmate. :'((

If all you have is a biology degree or a nursing degree the nursing degree allows many more job opportunities now. Biology degree allows for more higher education but can’t get many jobs with that alone. I have only a biology degree right now and wish I went for nursing because I could get a good paying job now lol. I live in USA so that may be different if you live elsewhere. Up to you!

Im honestly not sure in terms of numbers, but since there is an exam to become a Registered Microbiologist I'd go for micro.. BUT sometimes nakadepend talaga sa gusto mo so go for what you really want and youll never be lost 😁

BS in Biology - 2 from Visayas State University Main Campus here haha in my own personal experience, being inside the program already, I am still searching what career I am planning to take in the future haha (i guess we're all still learning haha), I am planning to take Med in the future but fortunately, there are many career oppurtunities for bio grads like me if I'm not able to proceed to Med. I am formerly a BSChem student but I didn't like it, my family (mostly my grandma) wanted me to take BSN but I found it overwhelming and expensive hahaha hoping to come back to this video in the future! Undecided ako kung itutuloy ko pa BS Biology or magshift nalang sa Radtech. Either researcher, educator or go to medical school lang talaga ang career path ng mga undergraduate of BS Bio... Pede... kasi may memo naman po yung CHED na Strand mo in SHS will not be a basis pag kukuha ka na ng course mo in college... though there are some schools na will require you to take extra classes, but in most univs hindi namannrequired... may mga topics lang talaga na kelangan double effort 😁

As far as I know same lang naman halos, mas general kapag wala kang specialization... I think may extrang units lang kapag may specialization... for example sa Microbiology samin they give 21 units for Microbiology para qualified sila kumuha ng exam for microbiologists

what is the contribution of bs biology to food insdustry
Hi BS Biology, especially microbiology, have a great contribution in the food industry as we secure safety in food production. Every batch po nga packed goods from big companies like San Miguel Food Corporation are checked by microbiologist. Kinukunan po yan ng sample per batch to check levels po ng bacteria like Salmonella and others na super common. Prior to shipping required po ng clearance from a microbiologist.
Also biotechnology majors are among the contributors on the production of SAFE GMOs...

Hi po, ask ko lang po kasi kukunin ko pong course is biology po, yung mga universities na mga gusto kong applyan hindi po available yung bs bio. may ma susuggest po ba kayo na State U. na nagooffer nung course po o prev school. na nagooffer ng bs bio rin pero abot kaya po yung tuition .

Good Question though... I have the same dilemma kasi most of our grads who take up Med Bio as their track really proceed to medicine... pero some pursued research so Im not as sure, but based on OJT nila (namin soon kung may face to face OJT sana) I think you are allowed to work as assistants ng doctor like a care giver/ domestic helper? hindi ko alam yung term, but basically you monitor record patients vitals, their health... Bali kasi sa mga parang bahay para sa mga matatanda sila nag OJT and that is what they do... Sana nasagot ko yung tanong 😅

Hi! I dont have a deep idea on this, but based on my idea and research yes you can, but you still need to take some units for BS Forensic Science (credited yung nakuha mo na as a Bio grad) hihi 😁

Hi! Actually Math is essential sa Bio, there is the Biostatistics subject wherein you see how math is applied in Biology. We use numbers to predict trends in populations, extinction rates, genetic diversity, evolution, ecology and more. Madami talaga syang gamit pagdating sa bio. Also you will still have physics and chemistry which defines biological processes and therefore kailangan pa rin ng math... It's also required for your NMAT should you proceed to Med... Anyways this is a great topic, might as well make a video on this... THANKSSSS

As far as I know yes, specially sa mga production, required kasi na may micro sa mga factory for quality control.... outside the country I think may iba pang requirements other than the degree 😁

Yes po pero you need to take additional units para makaturo sa JHS below... pero di yata required pag SHS tapos need ng masters degree (kahit while teaching) para makaturo sa College 😁

Of course you can... I also dream of becoming a pediatrician someday... Actually you can take any course if you want to proceed to Med.. literally anything... When you proceed to med, you will have to take the NMAT which will be the basis (other than interview and college undergrad grades) for you to enter medicine school...

hello po mam pochi. college instructor here (nursing and biology subjects) Unfortunately mam No po. BS nursing po kunin nyo if you want to be a nurse in the future. Sa nursing kasi konti lang ang biology related subjects: Anatomy and Physiology tska Microbiology and Parasitology lang. Then Biochemistry for chemistry subjects. well syempre aside sa minor subjects which is pare preho kahit anong course kunin mo. BS BIO will not qualify you to take Nursing board exam as well kasi sa BS BIO plants, microorganims and animals ang focus while sa Nursing Human diseases, treatments, drugs, procedures ang focus :) If you want to be a scientist someday go for BS BIO.

Hi, actually among the UAT takers at ASU Banga, I topped the list and was very much looking at ASU Banga as my 2nd option, but I really felt na West Visayas State University was calling me... I did not make West's initial list of passers and wait-list, and was preparing my papers to study in ASU Banga, but the day before my scheduled application in Banga, West called me and told me na I finally have a spot so I studied in West... pero anyways Im looking forward to teaching in ASU Banga in the future (if ever I dont make it to med school), so that I can also help lift the bio program in Aklan 💕 Sending love kinyong mga ASUians... Hi! Sorry for the late reply... actually there is no required course as a pre med for medicine... basta graduate ka ng 4 year course kahit walang relate sa medicine (engineering, tourism, english) you can still apply for med school 😁

Hi I am currently in Medical School with classmates who took up Mass Communication, Tourism, Electrical Engineering, and more... As far as I know, the current requirement to be able to take the NMAT is a 4 year degree regardless of the field... Maybe some medical schools would require bridging but as far as i know the basic requirement is you dont necessarily have to earn a medically related undergraduate degree 😁

Hindi naman po. May Biostatistics kami. Nag enjoy ako then meron ding mga majors na may math, which is Biophysics, Organic/inorganic chem, analytical chem may mga math dun. Depende kasi sa students if you love math. I love math kaya di ako nahirapan.

Hi, I think there are required units (language or law yata) to take the PhilSAT which I think is not required as of the moment for law school because of a court order...
Pero ... I have a prof who graduated BS Biology then took Masters in Ed and PhD before proceeding to law school and passing the bar. I am not particularly sure if he had to take units pero basically he is a proof that Bio students can proceed to Law School 😁

good question hahah... hmmm...Im honestly not sure, I think you need to proceed to studying vet med after... pero pagkakaalam ko pede ka naman dumeretso ng Vet Med after SHS longer yata yung course I think 5 or 6 years... But if you took up Bio and planning to go to vet med ok rin kasi sa Bio may zoo, animal physio and other subjects naman na related sa animals 😁
