I’ve always felt that challenges are a bit overrated in the budgeting community. They are fun and useful but overused most of the times. You are doing an awesome job putting priorities in order. Wishing you the best of luck!

We have gone through SO MANY changes with chore charts. Giant chart, simple chart, virtual, blah. Finally found something that works for us. We do a max dollar amount each kid can earn and we stuff binders every other Friday. They can earn $5 per week max: grades, behavior and finishing chores. Do what works for you. I love hearing about other styles and tips.

If I have the time I can actually read a book in a day...lol. So, a book sinking fund makes sense for me. We also homeschool, and, although I do have a homeschool sinking fund, I will probably use some of the book fund to buy literature books we want to do.

Hey, Jordan! I got an iPhone SE a few months ago and I’m really happy with it. It’s well protected in a nice otterbox case, so should last several years. I also went with mint mobile and paid for a year in advance for a 4GB/plan, which comes to only $15/month. (I did a 3 month unlimited plan first to see how much data I used, turns out since I’m almost always home on Wi-Fi I use hardly any and don’t even come close to 4GB/month). Anyway, might be useful info for you ❤️

Simplicity is always the best way to go. As a person with Obsessive/Compulsive Disorder, I admire you and can tell you how easy it is to get carried away with organization (you should see my pantry and closets!). I know it's "wrong" but I can't stop. One of my obsessions is money. Not in a greedy sense but an organizational and saving sense. I'm the person who will take the time to pick up a penny in a parking lot. lol Anyway, don't feel bad about streamlining your process and getting back to basics. I would do it if I could but at this point I could probably fight off 6 Navy SEALS with my bare hands if they tried to take away my weekly Savings Challenges, Monthly Savings Challenges, and Yearly Challenges! I know I could and should streamline my system, but I would rather chop off my right arm. LOL Keep up the good work! You're doing a fantastic job!

I love the simplicity of this Jordan let’s not talk about how many binders I have lol I was supposed to start budgeting on November 1 looks like it’s going to be first week in December but I like that you’re simplifying it I have one large large painter 5 inches that house holds my entire budgeting household CZcams and all my other things such as saving challenges and all I just section them off with page dividers as far as it goes to my little syncing fun binders that’s why I’m gonna get in trouble I think I have like six lol love your channel girl congratulations on the growth girl you are just rocking it I wanna see you at 6K by the end of this month

I need to do a re-evaluation for next year. I realized I have a lot of sinking funds that are not made yet.

Hey Jordan! I think it’s super important to revamp or at least take a look at what’s working and not in your budget. Have a wonderful weekend friend🥰💚😊

Question: why do you put savings money back in the envelope? Isn't that supposed to go to the bank?

I will be honest that I did not read to see if anyone else mentioned this but I would absolutely look at every place you go to membership and see if they have reciprocal relationships with any of the museums or places you might want to go when you move. Museums and science centers often have a relationship with other museums and Science and there's around the country

In Arkansas I think it is 30 days to get your licensing and registration changed over.

I live in Kentucky on the state line with Tennessee. I don't think you have to update your car tag as soon as you move. You do have to update your driver's license within 30 days though. In Kentucky at least a license plate stays with the car for the life of the car. If sell your car to someone else the registration is considered paid for until that person's next birth month. Like I pay mine every February. But if I sold my car in March to someone who has a birthday in June, they would have to pay for the registration again in June, even though I just paid it in February.

I only pay an additional $5 per month for roadside assistance with my car insurance company. In GA we can go to the public library and borrow a dvd on the Zoo Atlanta. When we return the video we get 4 free passes to the zoo. This can be done once a year. I saw online that if you get government assistance the Tennessee zoo offers discount memberships. I have a local thrift store where I buy my books. They are usually $0.25 for paperback and $0.50 for hardback. As for the dryer-clean the lint filter with dawn dish washing detergent. The heating element is usually the problem and this occurs due to build up of fabric softener on the screen.
