- Spent my first couple of days boondocking in outside of Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota. This was pretty much my first time ever camping in the Northern Lite as I had only done 1 prior test run but just slept in it and didn't cook, shower or do anything other than sleep.
I will be spending the majority of the next few months in the North West to avoid the heat and explore some amazing areas such as Glacier NP, Tetons NP, Sawtooth Mountains and plenty more.

I actually bought my Ram ProMaster van, which I achieved by selling my paid-for GMC Sierra pickup. I must say, after owning a pickup for 3 decades, I LOVE my standup van. If you find yourself with a down-payment on you Ford Transt again, do it!

Agreed! That's my biggest personal negative, but at the same time its nice being able to take it off unlike a van where it always attached.

Love any and all coverage for Northern Lites!. Thanks. A small request; Please consider panning your camera more slowly. Swift panning and jumpy camerawork can be seasick-making for some folks like me.

Idk what those reviewers were smoking but the North Unit of TRNP is much more scenic. If you ever get the chance overnight at the CCC camp just South of the park on the other side of the river for a couple nights. Walk the long X trail counter clockwise at least 4 miles in then turn back or complete the 11 mile loop. Do it clockwise about 3 miles in and back the next day if you don’t do the 11 miles. Then go to the North Unit stay in the campground if you want but it is more expensive. Before driving the entire road stop at the Caprock coulee trail and walk the whole thing. I can’t remember how long it is. Go the way it goes behind the bathroom I believe that is North then West don’t cross the street and do it backwards. Three awesome views on that trail will already beat anything else in ND and SD. Then finish the drive to the end. time it so you arrive about 30 minutes before the sun disappears and watch the land change over the river as the sun goes down. This will be enough hiking you may want another night in the area so swing on down to Bennett Campground. No need to walk more trails unless you want to it is unique for sure but kind of the same as you saw on Long X trail at CCC campground. The only reason to go into the South Unit is to see the wild horses. I’m sorry the reviewers led you astray on that one.

Just came across video but I keep my power station in my backseat and run the 30 amp cord to my camper through the sliding back window.

I too seriously thought about solar along with a Jackery solar generator... but to go all in - the right way - it was BIG bucks! Like between $4K - $5K!!!! On the advice of a guy on 'CheapRVliving' I went out and purchased a $400 WEN generator and I am GOLDEN! I can run everything except for my AC (without a SoftStart), and keep my batteries always charged. Solar.... not ready for prime time just yet.

Ram fuel filters are $110.00. A couple cheap special wrench's for 25.00. Watch some videos and It'll take an hour the first time. 30 minutes after that . Easy to do.
Nice video. Do you have a video with more detail on the tailgate bracket? Nice to be able to keep it on. Also wonder how you ran the wires for max air fan. Did you just run them along the ceiling exposed? Thanks again for tour of upgrades. Good stuff. 👍
I have a short iPhone clip I believe but I had a local welder make it for $150. And yes I tied into the bathroom light and just taped it to the top of the ceiling.
Awesome video! Just got my first truck camper today for my duramax. Can’t wait to start using it. Have a klr and mtb to bring with. You like this setup like more than that class A? I’ve done a couple cross country trips in A’s before
I like it for different reasons for sure. It has its draw backs but overall yes I like it better than the Class A. My girlfriend and I may be switching to a fifth wheel since we are full-time and want to carry Dirt Bikes, Surfboards, Rock climbing gear, paddle boards, and a bunch more toys!

How did you mount those brackets? I have a Northern Lite as well. Will be adding solar soon
I forget the exact screws I used but essentially just screwed some down. A lot of the panel brackets I just used 3m tape because its fiberglass and sticks really well. Never had an issue and drove over 10,000 miles, bumpy roads and not panel ever came off.
