  • This is one of my waves during the Windsurf Wave World Cup event in Peru where I ended up in 3rd position.
The ride is almost 2 minutes long and all filmed by drone. The spot is in Peru and it's known to be one of the longest sailable waves in the world!
I'm back with CZcams videos so check out my profile and stay tuned!

Waw. Incredible. I wish to ride one of these waves once in my life (it will never be the way you do it though). What score did you get? Must over 9 isn’t?

Thanks Andres! I'm sure you will; and by the way I'm organising a Windsurf Trip Experience there for next year, so stay tuned! For that wave I actually got an 8.23 🤙

Damn, my arms and legs already start to hurt after 3 turns without the harness, I don't think I'm fit/strong enough to do so many turns on one wave! Nice to have a rest when you chug back upwind again for the next run. When you free-sail or train, how long is a session typically? I guess if you make the session very long and start getting tired, it becomes a different kind of training; more towards muscle endurance but less towards technique and skill. Is that something you consider while training?

Yes absolutely; I try to keep my sessions not longer than 1 hour and a half; I like to keep them "short" but intense. Obviously it also depends a lot on the spot and conditions. For example when I get to Pozo I actually need shorter sessions as my body has to get used to that type of sailing which is super intense. While in Peru on the first sessions my arms and legs start hurting after the first waves, so yeah, it is a process! For sure the physical training helps a lot and that's why I put a lot of focus and time into it 🤙🔥

Such a incredible wave. Love to ride such a wave. Then port tack back out looks cruisy. Perfect setup.
