Serge Lutens was the first niche perfume house i ever tried. As a jasmine lover , i was looking for the best jasmine perfumes for my collection and randomly found A La Nuit. So far no other jasmine perfume could beat the iconic A la Nuit. It is a narcotic, sensual, true jasmine and holy grail jasmine perfume in my book. I also enjoy Louve, fleur d’orangeur, datura noir, la fille de berlin, vanille de bois and feminite de bois (i apologize to any French readers for butchering their language lol). Serge Lutens opened my eyes to other niche perfume house so it will always have a special place in my heart 🥰
Hi Sebastian ! being a Lutens collector I had to react haha. I agree all the rebranding and stuff is confusing though, Jeux de Peau is not discontinued but has moved to the bell jars collection, along with Daim Blond Arabie Cedre and Bas de soie.
My favourite is Chypre Rouge :)

This is a fantastic house. Le Fille de Berlin is one of the rose perfumes. Everything they do is rich, layered, interesting, long lasting, beautiful. I don’t know Silver Mist or Fille de Anguilla but from what I’ve heard they’re spectacular. Thanks for the video! Sad news.
Such a creative and high quality house, I'm a big fan of Serge L. I still need to try a lot more of their creations but so far my favorites are Chergui and Ambre Sultan 👍
Arabie is an amazing fragrance, so much depth with the oriental/middle eastern vibe! So yummy.

Hello Sebastian, as usual you collect great set from Serge Lutens i would like to mentioned that i got Fille en Aiguilles and it is incredible but when i have ordered it was difficult to chose between Ambre Sultan now i am thinking to order Amber Sultan:))
I was a fragrance sales associate in the 1990's when Feminite du Bois was first released, it was an immediate love at first sniff. I still have a bottle of the old Shiseido extrait that I wear occasionally.

My signature scent was also my first niche fragrance. It was Serge Luten’s Diam blonde. A great powdery suede and Iris scent I loved. I lost it in a car crash and now it’s in a bell jar

One of my first niche purchases. 2007 I think. I got Un Lys. Still have it. It’s heaven! But they didn’t have it anywhere in the US back then. I smelled it at Barneys in NYC but by the time I wanted to buy it no one had it.
Had to order from Montreal, Canada. Now ready to buy another bottle and they will discontinue? I like Datura Noir, Chergui. I think spelled those right.

Fils de Joie is my absolute favorite Serge Lutens frag. They're quickly becoming one of my favorite house.
Thanks for the video. Serge Lutens was the beginning of my extensive perfume collection. I used to buy backup bottles of my favorites and because of that I am now on my last 26 backups of original 50 ml. bottles, most of which I purchased from Barney’s. I also have 3 bell jars. It is indeed disappointing that they are no longer distributed in the USA.

That is interesting. Sheldrake is one of the best and is probably the greatest influence in perfumery in the last 30 years.
You must try Fumerie Turque, an exquisite Tobacco fragrance.
Have you tried Santal Majescule? It's my favorite from the line.
Sad. Iris Silver Mist is a favorite, I wish I had explored more deeply into the whole line. I'm a relic of the old days when fragrance was dominant, so it's sad to see the whole industry decline bc of COVID. Wouldn't be surprised if Guerlain pulls out of the US, it's hard to find now.
Nooo I love Serge Lutens perfumes! He's my favorite perfumer. So sad they won't be sold in the USA. Guess I need to buy backups. I'll stock when I can get the France.
Sad. Serge Lutens Arabie was my gateway into niche perfume and I adore Arabie and would have to say it is my favorite of the house. I have worn many Lutens over the years. I ran out out of Fille en Anguilles and was annoyed to find how much it increased in price and was bumped up to a new level, so I don't have anymore, but it is wonderful and I'd love to have it again. I ran out of Bois Violette and it was discontinued. I still wear Santal Majascule, Datura Noir, Arabie, Le Participe Passe, and a few more.

Fille en Aiguilles is definitely also my Serge Lutens favorite scent!! Also Fèminite du Bois’.
A very interesting house. The perfumes that I have experienced have a unique one of a kind twist to the compositions. Absolutely needed house to keep the art side of perfumery. The downside I experience is fairly low longevity (3-5 hours depending on the bottle - even the ambers and vanillas) and pretty low projection. If you want a bottle to experience yourself, want to experience something unique, and love the art side of perfumery, this is a house to check out. However, Its not beast mode in terms of scent bubble or an all day 8-12 hour wear. Lovely for sure.

Jeux de Peau is not discontinued. I just bought it from their website. It's in the bell jar bottle
I have and adore Datura Noir, I’ve used almost half the 3.4 Oz bottle in just a few months. 😭

Feminite Du Bois is such a great classic. My mom wore it in the Shiseido bottle and I have been wearing from the Serge Lutens collection. This is heartbreaking news.

Probably my favorite house :) I really love louve (new in our collection), a la nuit (my first niche!), clair de musc, cedre, borneo 1834, Vitriol d’œillet, Feminité du Bois, La Vierge De Fer, Un Bois Vanille, and La Fille de Berlin! Quite a lot of them! More are on my want list :)

I’ve been told that Cosmax has been the distributor for Australia and New Zealand.
I don’t know why but I scrubbed Chergui after I tested it- really don’t like it. The only one I have is Ambre Sultan which is really great but the only amber I really love is Ambre Précieux:-). Well except for Ambre Loup- I love that too for a skanky experience!

Compared to the 90es version Ambré sultan is so weak. In the same category I would recommend you to give a try to Ambré lumière from Molinard.

the myer website has a few in stock There was a rumour they'd be moved to sephora but that hasn't happened, not sure if that's in the works. If they're pulling out of the US I doubt they'd remain here

Discounter stocks will probably dry up if there aren't any retailers dumping said stock on the grey market. Isn't that how the discounters get ahold of their inventory?
From what I understand, some Discounters buy fragrances from other countries (where they are sold much cheaper) and have them imported and sold at a higher markup (which is still cheaper than retail here)

This is saddening to say the least. Covid has left its mark on every industry, and we're seeing those effects. Serge Lutens was my first niche house love in 2012. Feminite Du Bois, Chergui, Five O'clock Au Gingembre. Fille An Aiguilles, Rousse, Daim Blond, Santal Majuscule. I could go on. I'm not sure I'll seek bottles now, though. I don't wear them like I used to, however dear to my heart. Farewell, Serge. It's been great having you here in the states 😔

I just picked up Ambre Sultan today. I dig it. It's a lot like TF Tobacco Oud. Worth the $30. I also saw La Couche du Diable and La Fille de Berlin. I would buy them all TBH. Steal at this price.

Thanks for your video. Regarding your taste you really should put your nose on "Borneo 1834" (the most refine Patchouli with black cacao and tabacco leaves) and "La Couche du Diable" which is a dark rose oud and incense. But there's ther jem like "Sarrasin" and "La Myrrhe" or "Fumerie Turque" (beautiful tabacco leaves, rose, Patchouli). And yes, "La fille de Berlin" is a masterpiece, one of the best rose ever.

I’m still not hearing people talk about Lutens not being sold in the US other than their own website. Are you sure this is happening?
Call and ask Luckyscent and ZGO Perfumery. They are the ones that told me this is happening! Do you think I'd be making stuff up? Those two are major retailers who said SL is not going to be selling Fragrances in USA retailers. Once both stores sell out of their SL Fragrances they cannot restock.

They just changed distribution, Cosmax Prestige Brands took over distribution in June and they are now stocked in selected Myer and David Jones stores in Australia.
