As a Brit, some of the accents are off, but most are okay. Its the cadence and dialogue, most just don't talk like that and it seems very 'North American writes for what they think British people say and sound like, based on old movies/tv shows and stereotypes'
I thought Ubi was French?
Does it sound like a bunch of French Canadians doing British accents? because all their games set in America sound like French Canadians trying to do American accents.
I put it down to being a hyper stylised video game. To me they all sound alright, they're just taking a few British caricatures and embellishing their traits a bit

There was something funny in the Ubisoft guy saying this will be a real historical account and then refers to them colonizing, invading and imposing their own rule over an entire (well half depending on the time period it's set) populace as "settling". And I don't think anybody thought/thinks they were barbarians but again it's funny because he uses the term Vikings not Norse Settlers which are often considered two different things (the Vikings being the ones to do the invading/pillaging etc). I wonder how many peaceful islands that are occupied by only unarmed monks our band of brave Vikings will invade and kill in order to steal their stuff?
@@Hoopla10 yeah you can tell they wanna have their cake and eat it too. Tiptoeing around the deeds that most all soldiers did in that time period but what one particular group was infamous for.
Except Vaas doesn't have a scar on his right eyebrow, he does in some of the promotional images but he does not in the game (he has a much larger machete sized scar on the left of his head) AND he has a name and a sister so... Honestly I haven't seen anything at all to suggest that this kid is Vaas... Although his shirt is the same color red.

If you liked the Watch Dogs short film at the very beginning, check out the "Love, Death and Robots" episode called "The Witness" on Netflix, also done by Alberto Mielgo. That style and animation is so addicting.

I kinda wish Ubisoft would just spin off the Assassin's Creed series because it seems they'd rather just make a historical arpg series that don't have to connect to a greater story.

@kinda funny games Really glad you talked about the Ubisoft situation before reacting to the stream, if UBI didn't have the balls to talk about it themselves with a small add on video before the pre-recorded video at least the people watching it can go in with some context

The Watchdogs CG in beginning is ACTUALLY directed by the guy who made the one in Love,Death,Robots , and he was an art director on Spiderverse

The Far Cry 6 cinematic looked awesome. But, if the gameplay hasn’t evolved, and it’s still the same old Far Cry with outdated gunplay and traversal, I’m gonna pass. It’s pretty much been the exact same game every instalment since Far Cry 3.

You guys should definitely play/stream Devolvers conference. They released it as a free game on Steam. Its surprisingly high quality.
As a Brit, I can’t say that these accents are particularly common. They’re all based on London sure, but it’s a very specific part of London, not the whole city.
Beyond that though, it’s not so much the accents, it’s the writing. 90% of that dialogue is pure cringe, and isn’t how actual people in London talk

TenaciousDDP101 it’s really not. It’s how Americans think people from London speak, how it’s portrayed in pop culture/media representations.
Go through any borough of London and you’ll find maybe 8% of people actually speak that way.

Seems suicidal to try and release 2 open world games 2 weeks apart let along with in the same window as Cyberpunk. Good luck I guess... I’ll be waiting till after I’ve completed Cyberpunk to get them both at a steep discount I assume.
It’ll also be a new generation of consoles so it’s honestly better then not really having any options at a console launch which is probably exactly why they’re doing it

As a Brit, the voice acting for Watch Dogs is really off-putting.
It's pretty authentic.
Idea of watchdogs is cool but this game, just like the previous two absolutely screams, "look how cool this is isn't this cool dont you think it looks cool its sooooooooo cool they all wear colourful masks and their dialogue is soo cool and the leader is super quirky like a cool showman haha cool isn't it?????"
I wish Ubisoft made a linear Watchdogs game like the short movie Alberto Mielgo made, the one they showed before the actual gameplay. Because it has to be an open world, I feel like it's lacking a lot. Especially I suspect it lacking actual story and content. I fear its gonna be an online multiplayer-focused/live service one like GTA V.
Why can't it be a single-player game like say God of War but with elements of Watchdogs and all the mechanic they showcased in Ubiforward?

Ubisoft had, far and away, the worst showing of this fake E3 this year. Assassin's Creed came off worse than I had anticipated and the only game that was interesting is legion which I've already been sold on prior to this
Haha I’m so done with those games. I played up to and including origins but when I was done with origins I was more glad it was over than satisfied. Didn’t even bother with odyssey. For me the concept of AC was the tie to the current world, the fact that has all been forgotten at this point makes it pointless. I’m glad they are building all these insanely big games but I hate they are still calling it Assassins creed when it’s not that
Really? I thought Legion looked pretty bad. I don’t see them pulling off a decent story, given that there’s no dedicated protagonist

I would argue a large part of Ubisoft’s plan for E3 was to do hands on Demo’s which kind of got shot in the foot for obvious reasons.

Watch dogs 1 and 2 play like shit so unintuitive
They are trying so hard to make this watch dogs cool, when it just falls flat. The dialogue also feels so cringy.

Likely was in production long before any riots in the US, plus what are people not supposed to do anything with riot/protest imagery because the U.S is having protests and riots? Your point doesn't make much sense.
The games probably been in development since farcry 5 shipped. They can't change everything about it in 2 months
All the far cry games have the base premise of a revolution of some sort so not really anything new

this show was almost as bad as Microsofts......Ubisoft needs to branch out, upgrade their tech, hire better righters, amongst other things. Theyre the xbox of game devs/publishers, back of the pack, dont know how to get ahead or even keep up.
