Well, I'm glad that I viewed this and thanks to Nick Mills & Newstalk ZB for conducting this interview. I would not trust Torrey Canyon Whanau as far as I throw her. In spite of the fact that most rate payers did not want the Golden Mile project she has ignored their opinion and is proceeding because she "campaigned" on it. She completely lost any credibility she may have had over her evasive answers about the Reading Cinema deal. Over the last 3 years Wgton rates have increased by more than 40%; the council continues t6o spend on NON ESSENTIAL projects rather than concentrating on keeping basic infrastructure maintained. Her resignation would be a blessing.

I know a Kiwi family who have worked offshore and want to come back to NZ to live with around $10 mill for property and business investment.
Explaining the nation-wide difficulties with local government (city councils and mayors) is challenging, mainly because they can’t believe the risks I am informing them of could possibly be real.
I have sent them this clip of Wellingtons Mayor to show the truth behind the risk analysis.
Invest back into NZ for sure - but you need to go in with eyes very wide open, and be prepared for delays due to regulation, and consent, and cost overruns.
She passes the buck rather than taking ownership for a lot of problems she had created. It’s a cop out saying the problems are common everywhere with other councils. She is not a good leader and creating division within the council. She needs to go with Wgtn has any chance of getting out this mess
