Iron maiden is one of my all-time favorite bands. To get a breakdown of how they're mixed by one of my all-time favorite engineers is a real treat.
Pure gold. Thank you.
Love good cop bad cop. Thanks for sharing your work stream. Cheers!!!!
Excellent! Nice work!
Awesome technique Pooch
Wow you really give cool keys! Thank you so much!
Awesome engineering !
Awesome stuff Pooch… I finally got SuperRack Performer and it’s working awesome and I have been experimenting with stuff you suggest or use… Awesome stuff…
Hey Pooch, can you tell me how do you ensure that all the channels, buses and paths are delay compensated as the inserts are only on some channels and that too they are digital inserts (meaning the sample latency cannot be determined by the console as the processing is happening outside the console). How does the delay compensation work in your show file?
Good Stuff - thanks
4 hours to watch a 36min Video,( I took a BUNCH of Notes..).... NO REGRETS!!!!!!! Now if I can just make this work on an M32... I've been watching WAVES-RACK for a while now, an with the fact that I work with 60+ bands in a Year, a "super rack" would be Amazing to have... This has Inspired me...
Great inspiration Pooch, thank you! Regarding the PSE on the Bass Mic channel: Wouldn't this work even better before the compressor?
Right on Pooch! What Reverb are you using on Bruce's Vocals? Be Blessed!
Ken, at what stage of your involvement are you making plug-in decisions? Do you go into the gig with an idea of what plug-ins you want/think you’ll need? Or do you make some of the decisions on the fly during shows? I think it would be really enlightening to see a video on what factors you’re taking into consideration as you evolve your mix/plug-in plot.
2 months of rehearsal
It's sad how few people know and use Tul mics.. even here in South Africa. I really need to get myself one
Hey Pooch, I have a fascination with the math involved in audio. I am always thinking about the sum total of dB I am doing to a thing, weather it is boosting or cutting a frequency. So my question for you is, after watching your videos on bussing and getting into this video, how many dB of boost total are you doing on the low end or high end of the kick drum? I am always fascinated by this. Once the audio goes from the microphone to exiting the console.
Just do what sounds good, don't worry about numbers:)
Hey man! What happened to " Gunji"?
Would love to no what is the total wattage of the sound system. Hope someone can enlighten me
Haven't got a clue what he is talking about !!😁😁😁😁What I do know is
When I saw Maiden in 2018 in the UK it was the best sound I've ever heard !!!
It was sweeeeet!!!
As a drummer, some engineers haven't got a clue , but this gent fucking nailed it!!
The band mix was pure quality!!!!
Hope he mixes them in the future.....
Best of luck to you...🥁🥁🥁
Wish he had mixed the newest Maiden live album. I saw them a few times when he did the FOH mix. They sounded huge. The album, in contrast, sounds thin, dry and lifeless.
He finally gets around to stating that there's no audio ! Therefore this video is worthless.
