In this video I give some advice on how to improve your art without giving up. It's important to be consistent to learn, and that's not an easy thing to do.
Equipment I use:
Art: Clip Studio Paint EX, Huion Kamvas Pro 22
Screen & Audio Recording: OBS
Video Recording: Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, Victiv 54inch Phone Tripod
Microphone: Razer Seiren Mini, InnoGear MS038 Boom Arm
Editing: Vegas Pro
Art in these videos is often based on lessons from channels such as: Proko, Boro Drawing, Marco Bucci, James Gurney, Paintable, Kazone Art, Marc Brunet, Mark Crilley, SomeNormalAritst, Volen CK, Reuben Lara, Mattias Pilhede, Peter Draws, Dave Greco, Will Terry, Trent Kaniuga, Sinix Design, DoKiDoKi Drawing, ericanthonyj, Akihito Yoshitomi, Sycra, Istebrak, Whyt Manga, Kuzomari
Art from others that I do not have permission to use is blurred. This is just a video log of my art progress over time. I have no intention of stealing content from other people.

Thank-you! I often start feeling like there's no point, or that I won't be able to learn. I often need to remind myself that we all start somewhere, and that growth comes through the process.
Ayo ur very underrated :(
Thank you, but I'm also very happy with the views/subs I currently get :D
@@JPArt God damn it you are too grateful, thank you for your lessons and heres a sub 😭
I am a art student currently, I would like to advice new beginner artist who wish to pursue art as a career* to build their foundations first! Yes, anime is really inspiring and fun but It will take you so much more time to reach where you wish to reach.
Anime is just a form of stylization of the realistic human form. If you know the basics you can bend and change however you wish to! Please guys, do not forget the fundamentals when self learning.
Also remember to reward yourself every time you achieve a milestone! It could be as small as giving yourself a candy! Appreciating other artist on social media could also give you a boost in positivity. I personally dm any artist every week, just sending a simple positive text gives me so much satisfaction.
Keep grinding! Also do not compare yourself to anyone but your past self. Thanks!
That last part is really hard. Especially when no one has ever said to you that you are "enough".
@@bimajuantara I believe you should always push yourself to satisfy YOURSELF. Yes, it is difficult, it has to be!
Now, I do not know who you would compare yourself with but it will always be a better artist (I mean we seldom appreciate our own efforts and compare with weaker artist) ... I never liked how we all think regarding this topic you know,....
We always tend to compare ourselves to an obviously better artist with tons of experience and then get demotivated... that is a complete BS!
Compare to someone with similar experience.. I can assure you, the majority would be similar to you. Then get motivated by the BETTER ones and HELP the weaker ones! That is all I can advice. Go back and check your last years work and compare to this year, see the difference? If not, you are just not putting much effort! Hence, keep grinding.
I am not trying to lecture anyone reading this, it is all just personal opinion. You may disagree with what I have written and that is fine! (=
Good day to you all!
@@aniketjana2146 Nah dude, I really appreciate it. You spend your precious time writing these beautiful things. Thank you Aniket Jana guy.
I found your channel because of your CSP tips, and I'm subbing because your videos are actually super helpful, and you come off as a very sensible and grounded person. Thank you for these words, I'll try to work better on my art. Best wishes.
I just draw when i feel like it, and not beat myself up over it if i miss a day or something. if i just stop doing it completly, it wasnt ment to be, and i probably wouldnt be happy doing it if i forced myself to do it. Instead i just go with the flow, and do what i feel like without any pressure. And i feel like ive come quite far for the relatively short amount of time ive been drawing, ive even started to make good money from it, which is neat.
5 years from now the only thing that will change is the number of art videos i have watched while the amount of pen to paper time will have stayed the same
thanks! you described my problem perfectly, unhappy as soon as I complete something without comparisons, not understanding what I'm drawing and having flat art, unable to reproduce a face. Trying draw a box then proko :)
It's amazing how much gets done when there's a strong emotional incentive behind it.
Speaking from personal experience, this yielded upwards of 30-40 years drawing practice,
however, in retrospect, I agree with the thoughts expressed in this video,
because once that incentive went away, I stopped drawing.
So . . . Back to the drawing board
to find the new incentive.
I really like creating art,
but now I get to do it because I like it,
not just merely as a coping mechanism. 🙂
Great video! Really fun to listen to while animating
Your videos always help so much, thank uuuu
Thank you bup really needed some motivation like this espescially for me as a beginner :))
Just like life it has ups and downs. Not everything goes your way.
I really like you videos. 👍you are very underrated, I hope you will be fame one day.
Thanks, your vidio always make me somehow motivated
I trust your advice as it comes from a Pyra and K-ON fan.
I just gave up on art at the start 👍
I kinda want to draw traditionally though I did find some useful stuff
thank you for this.
thanks for this video i really needed this
I like your philosophy my Dude.
the art in the background is really awesome
Thank you :D
I watched your first video as it dropped but still havent started...
omg tysm
All u saw it true and I am avenge artist and I am bad at human bodies and hands, animation is something new and I bad at that too. However, it more about practice.
I believe the right hip proportion is off. It is too big compared to the left one.
Thanks for the video with useful advices.
Please don’t make fun… I started drawing in 2007 and I stopped in 2010 because I was not improving and I felt that I was dumb and I never was going to improve.. so I stopped and never drawn since… I’m trying to start again now but it’s become a lot harder for me… -_- :’( my anxiety and my low self esteem stops me from drawing at all.. cause I always get frustrated easily if I mess up… I might have suspected ADHD and maybe this is the reason I can’t draw.. I have no idea.. I really want to be a good artist and animator in the future.. but I fear it will never, ever happen …
adhd is no excuse im sorry but its just not
@@Inksploded why Isn’t it not an excuse? Do you understand what ADHD is? Do you understand what Autism and learning problems are? If you were in my shoes, you would live my problems everyday and experience the living hell I am under. I’m trying so hard to learn to draw and there are issues that are blocking me. How would you feel if you had those problems? I think maybe you might need to be a bit more considerate of others and their problems/struggles
@@Giovanni_Team_Rocket_UKthis might be a late reply but if you use your ADHD or any issue as an excuse for a particular problem then how do you expect to solve it?
Even if it is ADHD, you know that it is still your decision at the end and your accountability for yourself.
I'm not belittling your situation, and I might also not be in the situation to say this to you, and I can't include everything that I wanted to say without it being a long reply. But the way we take accountability for our actions and not blame our situation can help you move forward because no one can help you if you don't desire to help yourself and I know it would be hard
P.S. I heard this advice from someone who is also diagnosed with ADHD
I just want to ask you, Do you study art and draw digitally or do you study and draw traditionally?
I do pretty much everything digitally at the moment, although the process is basically the same thing either way
Pis c'était fun?
