- Hamish and I head off on a search for wild Sika deer and some fat rainbow trout. Back in summer a hike over the tops into a stunning backcountry valley delivers some incredible scenery and an amazing adventure with a chance to catch up since I'd been down in the South Island all year. We get Yuli out for a few sticks after a tussle with some nice rainbows.
N.B. this was filmed a while back while the rivers were open.
New Zealand is world renowned for stunning scenery and epic sight fishing and this adventure doesn't disappoint.

@@nzadventurer Hi Ainsley, doing as well as can be expected, leukemia is a tough old battle, hope fully I will be out fishing the new season. Was hoping for the CNI over winter but sadly my health won't allow it.

Pleased you found that useful. Safety gotta be front of mind being so far in the back country. Not sure I'd be relying on an iPhone to save me all it takes is a fall and you break your leg + the screen and your in deep 💩
