So I just recently got the purple 4 last week and i really like it compared to the original. I weigh like 200lbs and this bet just feels way more comfortable to me almost like your floating on it. My first thoughts was it felt like I was laying on a blob or jello because this bed jiggles a bit but so comfy. I really loved the original it does the job but I feel like the original feels so basic compared to the purple 4. Thanks for the review love your channel!

It's been about a week since you've received the new purple "4" mattress and I'd like to know your immediate feels on it. You mentioned how your butt sinks in further than the rest of your body. Has that been an issue? What about side sleeping? Your 14 month update regarding the original purple mattress indicated slight pain when side sleeping. has the new Purple 4 resolved this?

vaguedreams would like to know about the side sleeping too. I have the original and have to sleep on an angle for side sleep. I have wider shoulders and definitely get some pain going when sleeping on my side. This mattress came out 4 days past my sleep trial ending!
Sorry I didn't see this sooner, If you still have your older mattress just throw it under the purple. Or if you don't I would buy a cheep mattress. I have the original purple on top of my cheep costco memory foam mattress and it is super comfortable now with no pain.

I am very sensitive to chemical smells and I appreciate you doing the “sniff” test! Those smells are headache inducing for me. So if you think of it for your follow up, perhaps you could let us know how long it takes for the smell to dissipate. The hubs and I need a cal king and the weight of the mattress is definitely a concern. Would definitely need that white glove service! Thanks for doing these reviews, they’re really helpful!
Not sure if you noticed, but at the bottom of the screen there was text that said that the smell went away after just a few hours. I actually forgot that it smelled bad by the time we went to bed.
Thank you, I had not noticed the text about the smell being gone after a few hours. I had seen a review about the purple pillow and the reviewer said the smell lasted a week. He said purple told him to wash the pillow, yikes! and he almost returned it. I would not want to have to wait a week for a mattress to lose its smell, though the long try out period would help with that. Thanks again!

We had the Nectar but honestly we weren't happy with it at all it felt like an old futon. We are going through the return process now and still haven't received our refund even though we have done everything they said to do.... not as easy as they make it sound on their Website! We now have had the Purple 4 for one month and so far we love it! It is expensive but it is worth it!

I wonder why they have only twin XL for the 4 and not twin. I am switching from my childhood room to another room in my parent's house since it is so tiny. It was never meant to be a bedroom and I was getting tired of the tiny space. Since it was such a tiny room, a regular twin (not XL) was the only size bed that could fit. So originally the plan was to just get a twin size purple 4 mattress since I'm used to a twin size, but then I went to their website and noticed it's not an option so I was like hey might as well upgrade to a bigger size and I ordered it up. Anyway, does anyone know why they don't have a regular twin size? I'm just curious.
The price difference in Purple 4 to Purple 2 in King/Cali just calls out how overpriced the company makes them, and it's so unfortunate because I love the mattress. But seriously, $1600+ just to add 2 inches of "hyper-elastic polymer" which is just most likely silicon. And yes silicon is the most expensive rubber base to use, but not $1600 more expensive.. but oh well, I paid the extra for it lmao

yes, one of the reviews (it's like a 0ver 30 minutes long) of the purple 4 has it on an adjustable base and it did well

Just discovered you both and have binged a lot of your content. I am a big (240) side sleeper and I tend to have hip and shoulder pain and my wife is half my size. You convinced us to go with purple, but then we saw your Helix review, where you mentioned it might be better for bigger people compared to the original Purple. Do the new Purples change your thoughts on that? Also, you mentioned pain after 14 months on the Purple, How does the original compare? We are currently looking at either the Purple 3 or 4 or the Helix. The new purples are expensive, but when you take into account we will likely have the bed for 10 years, its not really that bad. I wish my expensive PC builds lasted 10 years lol. Thanks for all you do!
I can tell you that as a heavy side sleeper, I also have hip and shoulder pain on the original purple by itself. It's to thing (if it were 14" instead of 9" it might be a different story. I threw my old mattress underneath it and that solved every problem I had with it. instead of shelling out an additional thousand I would recommend you try a cheep memory foam mattress to throw under it. Just get it from someplace with a decent return policy, like costco or sams.

I came here to see the reviews, but as far as prices go, it’s right around the ball park with all the other premium name brand mattresses from my research. And if it provides a comfortable and supportive sleep like they (Purple) claim, you really can’t put a price on the benefits of that, ya know what I mean?
It is a lot, but honestly, if I am going to get a good nights sleep for 10 years, its not bad at all. With stuff like this you really need to consider its value over time, which is hard to do sometimes.

Really curious! We have one of the originals and we opened it the same day we got it and slept on it that following night. We didn’t get any information or instructions but I’ve heard from other people to not sleep on the bed for 24 hours?! Is that accurate or just for some other beds or foams?
Dylan O’Connor we slept on our the same night but it had all day "fluff" up
We also slept on ours the 1st night. I believe you need to wait 24 hrs on memory foam mattresses but don't quote me on that

That's off because we have never seen that commercial, but we did give them permission to use our video a LONG time ago. Like over a year ago. Now I am going to try to find that commercial so I can watch it haha
I'm totally jealous. Makes me wish I hadn't purchased the original purple mattress. I've wanted the purple.4 as soon as I heard they made them. Don't get me wrong, I love my purple mattress. But the purple 4 looks sooo amazing. Hashtag jealous lol
