    Her and Nat King Cole broke many tv barriers for jazz and music in general

      Her and Nat should have done a duet album together. After all, they were both on Capitol.

    Oh my gosh, you just don't hear music like this anymore. I was 10 years old when this aired. I'm glad I was able to watch it LIVE and remember how music is suppose to sound.

    Nancy's beauty is exceeded only by her gorgeous voice. Nancy and Petula are my 2 favorites and you posted these wonderful Danny Kaye clips in the same week. Christmas has come early. Thank you!

    Nancy was so talented. She had the voice of an angel and she was heavenly to look at too. She was a good friend to me and the nicest lady you'd want to meet. They do not make them like her anymore.

    This broadcast was pretty brave for its day in showing black and white performers with arms around each other as they sang on national TV. You can bet that it wasn't aired in much of the American South. Nancy sounds great at this stage of her career, before she adopted the extreme mannerisms that I found hard to listen to later on. When she and I were both young, she was magnificent, and her recordings with Cannonball Adderley are treasures.

      Man, you're completely right. Amazing to see him simply slip an arm around waist, as if it's no big deal! @ this time, it was! Silly wasn't it? AS SILLY AS PEOPLE'S RACIAL HANG-UPS ARE TODAY!

      Her music from the earliest stage of her career is definitely the best, and I have those early jazz albums on LP. Once she decided she wasn't a jazz singer I think her material and style definitely declined in quality.

    • @EricBrownBey
      @EricBrownBey Před 4 lety +6

      @@direfranchement I disagree, I believe her material through the years was equally great. My brother believes the 70s was the best for her, I disagree with him. I believe through her entire career.
