Picking up where the Dame Dash vs Def Jam ended with the conference room scene when Dame found out that Jay Z had a secret marketing meeting with Def Jam staff without notifying anyone at Roc-A-Fella Records about it even after seeing the staff the night before at a Funeral. Dame address Kevin Lyles, Lyor Cohen, Randy Acker about the torturous interference they are doing with his artist and record label.

The thing is, Dame thought he was playing checkers with Def Jam, but they were playing chess with him. Def Jam always wanted Jay and Jay alone. Lyor sensed that there was a rift between Jay and Dame and he purposely did some slick shit to make the rift bigger. One of those things was sending jackets to the ROC team during their Hard Knock Life tour with "Def Jam" labels on them instead of ROC. He knew this would piss Dame off and cause him to react in a certain way. Another was this meeting which he purposely did not invite Dame because, again, he knew Dame would react in a certain way. Dame fell right into the trap. And the trap was, Lyor putting the bug in Jay's ear that he was working with an irrational person and he should distance himself from that person before they take him down with them. So now, everytime Dame reacted to Lyor's perfectly calculated stunts, he made sure Jay was seeing Dame's irrational behavior. Bottom line, Dame is not self aware and has no emotional intelligence. That is why he never saw it coming.

But with all due respect, most young business people don't understand that it is sometimes better to cash in the chips and move at the height of an endeavor's earning potential and still maintain solid relationships that can contribute to your 'next big thing'. However, ego and a percieved sense of power/entitlement can get in the way. Jay was gone; you have to expect that another man's ambitions will always entice him to cut a side deal down the line...especially if he believes that he is carrying the load through his own ego/sense of entitlement. Dame should have cut bait, made a profit and put his influence behind something else (then wash, rinse, repeat). Dame tried to fight this dynamic and he got burned. Just because you bankrolled someone, doesn't mean you own them; you merely have exclusive negotiating rights when bigger money wants to invest. Then you get fitted for a golden parachute.
