Thanks, John. I’m just starting to reach into this range so these fingerings are helpful. Definitely picking up Ridenour’s book too. I love your sound. I’d be thrilled if I could ever sound that good. So your a great clarinetist and a Star Trek nerd. In other words you’re a clarinerdist. Peace and long life.

I love these! High notes are a great subject; voicing and air consistency plays such a huge role in it, but so do our fingers! Just learned about backless fingerings this year, and they've helped a lot!

Agreed! I love altissimo fingerings that use the register key and vent the thumb hole. Thanks for watching!

I was waiting for you to get to high A-flat - that's a problem note for me. I hope you can continue upwards in a future video.

Most of these work great on my Buffet Tradition Bb and R13 A, awesome!!! Thanks so much for putting this together!

The standard fingering for altissimo g does not work well on my vintage Buffet Crampon ES, especially if I want to hold the note a little longer. Will present it to the repairman. For now I'll just leave it with this alternate fingering: RT 1--|12-G#.

Going to try these fingerings while practicing certain parts with high notes, but first is to improve my voicing and embouchure.

I’d contact Tom Ridenour directly. You might be able to work something out. Thanks for watching!

Looking forward to trying these, my standard f# is always flat and the standard g is sharp which isnt a great combo 😂 I probably need to get my voicing and airstream better but will be good to experiment.

Amazing video! What was the piece used to demonstrate the first fingering?

That’s the solo at the end of Night on Bald Mountain by Mussorgsky. One of my favorites! Thanks for watching!

Sidebar : would be more helpful to put a fingering of the note BESIDE you holding the clarinet with subsequent fingering. Hard to see what exactly you’re doing since you’re holding up the clar for support and it’s like a flash. ⚡️
