Oh to be able to go back to the yard sales in the 90’s. Watching your videos reminds me of the cool stuff I used to have and find at yard sales all the time.

I have never had much luck with yard sales. Every once in awhile I'd find a Coleman lantern that someone sells for $40...which is pretty high. The best deal I ever stumbled across was my Optimus 8R for $5 at a flea market. I could not get that Abe Lincoln out fast enough for fear the guy may change his mind!

I didn't have the money or time in the 90's, it wasn't until about 2014 I had a bit of both. Timing is everything I suppose, lol.

@@honorableoutfitters ah, that’s a shame. My dad and I stopped at every yard sale we saw and there was a lot of cool stuff.

It is awesome setup, thank you brother! I finally figured out how to adjust the settings to get it pretty close to my main camera. 😅

Fortunately for me I am short so the packs fit. I still want to make my own as I have canvas on hand. My stall has been finding a lightweight wood. Then I remembered in the old days shields were made of linwood which in the US is known as basswood. It is a lightweight wood that is still durable. Now to find a retailer to go visit as I imagine shipping would be a fright. Remember that every extra 10 lbs puts 15 to 50lbs of pressure on your knees. So if you have knee problems or arthritus take it easy and take breaks.

Great advice! I just saw Hobby Lobby carries Basswood...I can't recall seeing long thick pieces however. The Traeger that I have has yellow pine uprights which is still lightweight but more durable than White Pine.
