Show Synopsis: "Suits" delves into the fast-paced, high-stakes world of a top Manhattan corporate law firm where hotshot associate Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht, “Love & Other Drugs”) makes a risky move by hiring Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams, “Old School”) a brilliant but unmotivated college dropout, as his associate. As he becomes enmeshed in this unfamiliar world, Mike relies heavily on the firm’s best paralegal Rachel (Megan Markle, “Horrible Bosses”) and Harvey's no-nonsense assistant Donna (Sarah Rafferty, “Brothers & Sisters”) to help him serve justice. With a photographic memory and the street smarts of a hustler, Mike proves to be a legal prodigy despite the absence of bonafide legal credentials.

This relationship was gonna fail one way or another.
Paula already had insecurity baggage from her prior relationship, Harvey and Donna were already deeply attached for years, and Paula absolutely knew that from the start, about Harvey *and* Donna. She knew in a way that made her engaging in a relationship with Harvey not just unethical, but quite shortsighted as well.
One way or another, Paula was gonna learn Donna and Harvey had slept together, and it was gonna be long past when Harvey should have disclosed it.
Donna hastened the death of an already gangrenous limb, and considering the fact that it was an impulsive kiss born of melancholy and ages-deep repressed love I'm kinda disgusted she's so hated for it when every other main character has been deeply inconsiderate in relationships too.
Or are we forgetting Louis cheating with Sheila, Harvey sleeping with Louis' sister after Louis *begged* him not to, Scottie making Harvey complicit in cheating on her fiance, Mike dating his best friend's recent ex and hiding it, and Rachel kissing her old boyfriend back?
All these things, and one single, soft kiss from a loyal friend is a bridge too far?
Nah, you just wanna hate the redhead.

Donna and Harvey are co-workers that slept together before. And she kissed him while he was in a relationship with someone else. Paula is 100% vindicated in being mad. Most people wouldn't be okay with their SO being so close with an Ex, because let's face it that's basically what Harvey and Donna are. They're husband and wife in every way except romantic.
They're far too close to be appropriate in a relationship or the workplace.

    • @tabithaprovan957

@@VDA19 Paula was right to be mad, but she was mad and jealous before Donna did anything, and she dated Harvey when she should have known better, especially since she was ethically obligated to not date him as his former therapist.
The only thing inappropriate about Harvey and Donna's relationship is that Harvey kept keeping them both in limbo with his cowardice.
Donna was wrong, Harvey was wrong, Paula was wrong. They deserved better than this mess, and they got out of it eventually.

Harvey tells her, "Donna is a part of my life and I love that, but I want you" and asks her "do you still want to come with me?"
And then why did she just say "Yes Harvey, I want to!" and didn't she make it a condition to fire Donna? It would have been the most appropriate time.
But then she had no guarantee that Harvey would choose her.
This makes me believe that from the beginning her intention was to take advantage of Harvey's denial and to hope that he will fall in love with her and then he will be able to get Donna out of Harvey's life

Paula saw something like this coming from a mile away. What she should've done was to remove herself from the situation. However, this is the age old problem of people (not men or women exclusively) falling for emotionally unavaliable individuals like Harvey. Who know that they'll hurt them but choose to chase that thrill anyways. Paula also tried to put herself in between Donna and Harvey by intervening with company affairs. Of all seasons this was the one in which I felt bad for her.
First of all, because she realized that in the last 12 years she put the needs of Harvey, her company and her friends in the first place, and she didn't think about her. Everyone evolved professionally, she remained a legal assistant. The promotion he got came with a lot of confusion, struggles and little satisfaction.
Then came Malik's trial where she was dismissed humiliated and disappointed that the friends she unreservedly supported always dodged and did not prepare her. Then, disturbed by the trial, Mike comes with his advice and Louis with the speech about the love of his life and she makes the mistake of kissing Harvey. Given the circumstances, I believe that the gravity of the deed is much attenuated and can be forgiven.
The highlight is the betrayal of Harvey who wanted to get rid of her by plotting with Stu behind her back. After being with her for 13 years, she even deserves to talk to her and say it in front of her.

Maybe I'm just different, but I've been in the situation before many years ago. The girl I was dating ... her ex made a move on her and kissed her (they worked in the same building, 2 different companies). She told me 3-4 days after it happened. She said it was because she was afraid it would hurt me and didn't want me to think she was only telling me out of guilt. I told her I understood completely and that it's scary telling someone something you know will hurt them, but I was glad that she was able to tell me and that if anything, it made me trust her more knowing she cared that much about my feelings.
I don't see the delay between the event and telling the person as a big deal unless it's like ... months or years lol. Could she have kept it from me and I might never have found out? Absolutely. The fact that she came forward after having time to process it herself, is what matters.

The bottom line is Paula's relationship with Harvey was highly enethical and she knew it and knew why mental healthcare proffesionals can have their license revoked for it. It's because therapist and such establish relationships that when mishandled can be deeply manipulative and hard to sever without real distress due to the patients reliance and insecurities.
