@@SolidoNaso. It was wrong from me to use word actually because history books have a different opinion. If Ive used "Continuation War came after Winter War" it would have been better.

I think there are no Finnish family, which has not some relative who has died in the war. Everybody knows someone who was killed or at least been in the war. I'm 50 y old. My parents are still alive, but their early childhood was under the war. Mothers had to raise their kids alone and do heavy farmworks while husbands were at war, being afraid if they'll ever see again. My granmother, who I never met, had 1 girl and 6 sons. My mothers father, my granfather, died in the warzone. I really respect those people like my mom and dad, who rebuilt this country. ❤

Freedom War/Civil War 1918.
Winter War 1939-40.
Continuation War 1941-44.
Lapland War 1944-45.
Finland became an independent country on 1917. Its a complicated story but the european idea of nationality forming a nation and the state became true. A long history behind the process of independence. It was close we took a king from Germany, but he was vise enough not to take the crown. The civil war was in 1918. Finland was very much divided on two groups; those who suffered of famine, unjust, poverty - and the rich and the privileged. Though majority was neutral and didnt want violent solutions. The scarve healed on the Winter War when Finns united all against the attacking Soviet Union. The reds and the whites together. One can say the civil war de facto ended on the winter war. Stalin was sure the people of Finland would wellcome a socialist status as a vassal of USSR, though the Finnish government didnt accept the plans of SU. Well, he got it wrong.

We had continuous war , Finland with help from Germany,attempted to take back parts of Karelian.. from Russia..41-44 war ..
And after that we had Lapland War against Germany... Which was forced upon Finns.. by peace treaty with the Soviet Union, to remove all German troops from Finland..
