It wasn’t until I went to Paris that I realized how stressed I was in NYC. I always thought that it was city life, but it was American city life, In Europe I sat in cafes for hours reading and chilling. I could eat a meal without being rushed out. It was a revelation.
They actually still have time to read I find ....I know that sounds simple but I live reading and can only do it in very structured spurts.
Are you still in NYC ?
Ladies, when choosing potential destinations to relocate, make sure to consider that it is an environmentally safe place (that floodings, fires, etc are not projected to peak in the next years. Also, INVEST in building sustainable relationships with local people as much as you invest in your retirement age. Social relationships are a valuable currency that’s often overlooked and that we have to build from zero when moving abroad.
FACTS!
Great advice. We must use wisdom when choosing to move abroad. Especially if going solo.
This is so true!
Dear Stephanie Perry. I am a gay black man born in Cuba, 1938, a fan of black womenfolk looking for easy life, enjoying and learning always. I refer to you as Goddesses. I find your conversation always fascinating and enlightening. Your vision is revolutionary.
❤
❤ Stephanie !!!
Black Women need to be kind to each other. All The Time
All the time. 💗
We do not preach this enough. Most of us give advice but still have deep Down self hatred, anger and jealousy.
THISS
Amen 🙏

**Soft Life - LIST OF COUNTRIES**
PANAMA 🇵🇦
MEXICO🇲🇽
SOUTH AFRICA🇿🇦
FRANCE🇫🇷
PORTUGAL🇵🇹
BARBADOS🇧🇧
THAILAND🇹🇭
What if you have children in some of these countries? Are the educational systems good for school-aged children?
@@tjsproles4992outside of Mexico , all the other countries listed have excellent public primary & secondary education. Going to their public colleges is cheaper than American community colleges in some of the countries. Mexico education is kind of similar to American public education. Whoever has the most money gets the best education of course but their regular public schools is still better than American public schools as far as education. Just make sure your child has lunch in Mexico depending on where you live in Mexico. Free lunch isn’t available at some public schools in Mexico.
@@tjsproles4992Barbados in particular has a significantly higher literacy rate than the United States.
@@JJ-fq4nl I'm confused, if Mexico is so wonderful why are people fleeing to our border in US ?? What gives?
For me, "soft" is living well without running the rat race, community, great healthcare, progressive politics, safe and respectful to women and POC. Lived in Asia for 12 years and traveled through Europe and Asia and the Middle East. It's all relative - when I was single, married, divorced, a mom, freelance vs employee... The list reflects your personal introspective deep dive and where you are in your season of life. Note, you can move again to another country (did it 3x). You make the rules.
Wow! I'm shocked by how bold you are! I'm such a scaredy cat and worry about things, such as: the language barrier, being trafficked, needing health insurance/medications, how to get around by myself, etc.
Props to you for being a risk taker tho. 🙂
Love this info. Thank you.
So where you live now?

THIS 💕💕💕💕
This is so helpful in me figuring out my soft life. No more big houses, no luxury nothing. Peace of mind body and spirit. Thank you for helping me sort it all out for when I retire.
Right. I'm selling my 4 bed/4bath house so I can buy what I can in France - which might be a studio or 1 bedroom 🤷🏾♀️ more comes with stress and being shackled to your job
I will be 53 in 3 weeks, and I really want to live abroad in 2 more years. Loving this.
Do it!
Stephanie Im thinking about living abroad Im 73 yrs old.
So am I at 72!
@@claudiacage3146for you ladies I’d consider doing it through those nonprofit teaching or community service positions. Like peace corps. Because they will pay for housing, food, and basic needs. And tbh if it’s teaching kids, like a teaching aid job it wouldn’t be too stressful.
Go for it!
Your hair and skin are beautiful
The black women I know who live in Africa (addis ababa, Abidjan) are living the life. Yoga, beaches (near Abidjan), maids/cooks, good nightlife. Addis is less easy (electricity issues) but if you have the money, you can get spoiled. But true that Africa isn’t for everyone but one can def chill.
How do these women make a living because I've been told to start a business but there are laws and regulations to that. So im confused
Sis this is where I was born
YES, Stephanie!!! Tokyo Is AMAZING!!! I❤️Tokyo! Planning a 6 Months Stay (Return) There In 12 Months’ Time!🙏🏼 What a City!!! Oh, And I Completely Agree, Stephanie; I’m Embracing EASE.😊 I Sometimes Sit On My Balcony Watching Ocean Waves For Hours & Thoroughly Enjoying That Experience! Then Slowly Cook Myself Fresh Fish Caught That Morning (By Local Fishermen/Fisherwomen{?}) Yes; Because I’ve Earned It & I/We Deserve It. Thank You Stephanie!❣️
Hi, what do you mean slow cook the fish? Sounds like that can be fire 😂
Not "Slow Cook". I Meant *SLOWLY Cook; As In... LEISURELY! Slow Pace Lifestyle With No One To Answer To and No Rushing Around... Like Life Before BLAXIT.💃💃😀💃💃
Sounds sooooo amazing😍😍😍😫🥹
@@LisaSoulLevelHealingi’m so greedy I got excited 😆
Guanajuato… 😉. I desire to occupy this beautiful place in Mexico. I must explore the physical handicap accessibility features as well as health care accessibility… hmmmm!
Luxury for me is walking to a cafe or restaurant and feeling safe.
Ms Stephanie, this is Anya Juan Risco, I was stationed in Panama. There are two seasons, the rainy season and the dry season. Panama's countryside is beautiful.
I'm on my way to Boquette in December. Really looking forward to it.
Barbados is one of the best places in the world for Black people to live. The Prime Minister, Mia Mottley, is a Black woman. The President, Sandra Mason, is a Black woman. When the Prime Minister is out of the country, a Black woman named Santia Bradshaw usually serves as interim Prime Minister. The entire government looks like the people, 95% of whom are Black. All of the policemen and women are Black. Unlike most American policemen and women, they understand that their job is to protect, not abuse or kill the people. Healthcare is free. If guns were not easily accessible in the U.S., gun violence would be non existent in Barbados. Most of the guns used to commit crimes in Barbados I am sure are smuggled into the country from the U.S. Overall, crime is relatively low. The island is modern. You can easily get just about everything you get in the U.S. and Europe there.
Most importantly, there is a feeling of normalcy there. The political figures and people are normal.
All that is true but the country has a high debt. How will they pay down that debt with less than 1 million people?
@@eileenwatt8283🤣 girl, soon u see how America deals with our 40 Trillion debt then we will circle back
I think its absolutely wonderful that you want to adopt children and live wherever you choose. Kudos to you. Just met a lady in Rwanda in her 60's from the states with 5 foster children. Do You!
Exactly what I want to dooooo
This is so helpful as I sit in the plains contemplating joining the National African American Gun Association so I can learn a skill I don't have to protect me and my child. I'm tired of the hustle and constant need to be on surveillance every time we leave the house. I try not to be that way but the US requires us to pay attention all the time.
Where do you live?
ALLLLL THE TIME❗️
@@gingerandspice1209 Just moved to Kansas.
I feel this. My increased anxiety is DEFINITELY all to do with the violence in America . Especially the gun violence if seemingly fun/ relaxed places 😢
I'm new here. Enjoyed the podcast and I have a girlfriend that adopted kids at 49 and now at 58/59 she's traveling while being a single mom. Best wishes on your journey
Hi Stephanie, lately the black diaspora moved to Africa in numbers and became very successful, In SA the family established a tourism company called The Real South Africa , they are doing very very well to assist the black diaspora to relocate to South Africa and Africa at large . They also made a document that you can find in Amazon. Another black American in SA interviewed black American living in JHB about living in SA, the couple names asad El malik , they also made a document in their channel about black American living in SA ,they work with Ashley in africa for Wits University. Thank you very much for what you are doing to remind blacks not to forget Africa as their ancestory land where they come from , I wish all the best in the 2024 summit that will be held in Cape town. We push prayers for you and Roshida ,,welcome 🇿🇦
Moved to playa del Carmen , MX and I have never been happier ☺️🙌🏽🏝️
Stephanie, you wanting to adopt is absolutely AMAZING! And I think you are right; a lot of women truly don't know what they want. Especially in the USA, we are told what to want.
This is a sad truth....😢
No city life for me. I love the country....deep county. For me it is magical.
Thanks for Ms Roshida D, Ms Stepanie, Ms Halisi and Mr Ric, et al.Thanks for The Picky Girl Travels the World, Black Exploitation, Black Utopia channels et al.
I feel like my situation is unique a little bit. I’ve always had this mentality of not wanting to “slave” for America .. but recently I was laid off blindsided from a job I was at two years, and from there it just became a domino effect ..recently my unemployment benefits ran out and yes, I was looking for work countlessly within these two months, and nothing permanent has come my way yet. I’ve had gigs here and there, but nothing permanent from having numerous of interviews, so with my situation I just got evicted from my place after all of this hardship happening from losing my job. I’m ready to just start now I feel like this is a sign but how am I to do it with literally no money that’s scary for me.😢 (Ps.. I strongly feel that me not getting calls backs.. etc are because I’m a black woman)… I have NEVER thought this way until around Cvid when you can just TELL… but that’s another story😤
I'm not sure where you live, but try moving to another state, evening you have to live in transitional housing. Some places in America are affordable and you can make it if you are disciplined and determined. If all else fails, and you're able, consider joining the service or working for housing at a shelter for a little while
I hope you’ve gotten something by now and a place to live. I would honestly take this as a sign to move out the US. and yes, I agree, they are discriminating against us Black women in the workforce no matter our education or experience. I’ve see it am experiencing it and I even tested it by using a “white sounding name” but you know they do remote interviews now and you must turn on your camera. Either that or you must be willing to accept below the average market salary in that field before they take you seriously. I know. I’m living it.
‘No, seriously, hit the subscribe button’😂😂😂 too cute!!
I hope Ms. Tabitha Brown interviews you and Roshida before the Exodus Summit. I'm so excited and want the world to know about you amazing ladies and the movement you're involved in.
Congratulations to you for adopting children. You're at the perfect age and well traveled to love and teach children that need loving ppl... So cheers to u for living great.. I would love to have a children facility to teach and encourage beautiful children...
Stephanie..I just adore you. So glad I got to hang out with you in person in El Salvador. And I am so excited that you are coming to Panama City. Can't wait to see you. Now that I am an empty nester, I am really embracing the soft life. And thanks to Mary, I now have an amazing group of Black women to do exciting things with here in Panama City.
Thank you I’m retired and not living my dreams but I’m looking forward to live it.
53:29 Stephanie wasn’t playing today. 😂😂😂😂
I'm pissed, there's only one 'thumbs up'. I need 10 thumbs up for this conversation!! Tell it Ms. Stephanie Perry!!!!!
Amen! We don’t insult women who don’t give up on their dreams! Whatever those dreams are! Just like me wanting to bop around the globe is unheard of and weird to some people. But I’m gonna do it anyway, even when or if people insult me about it.
5:15 seven countries named
17:23 Panama
56:38 France
For the afro females that are considering Thailand... They should really take a look at Malaysia cities like Georgetown and KL....... Housings a little bit cheaper.... great medical..... And don't have to be around with all the night time worker.🤫🤫 o yes it English speaking country
Loved this talk, especially how you emphasized what’s your life dream is for you and no one else! I am still exploring where I want to live but worldwide travel is definitely a part of what I want.
Somebody's gotta tell the truth, Steph! Agree, I question whether they have souls as well.
Stephanie cracks me up 😂 *pats in concealer. I love it! Lol
This is so different to the normal vids I watch. Love emphasis on positive experiences , was listening and waiting for her to talk about crime on her travels.
Stephanie I truly appreciate 🙏🏾 you and this channel
You left out Costa Rico
Barbados
Panama
South Africa
Mexico
Thailand
France
Portugal
Ease v. Relaxed pace..... interesting.
I never thought about the deep difference.
I do, however love autumn 🍂 🍁 more than all seasons
Thank you for writing out the list of countries noted in the video! ❤
That mini rant about who can move to what country took me out 🤣 Nothing but truth though 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Hello, my daughter has a medical condition… That is quite rare… And after the last experience, we’ve had here in America and healthcare which I’m grateful don’t get me wrong. I just feel such a pool maybe venture out and learn how to live abroad or to live a more nomadic lifestyle or to relocate to an area that just brings about, more love health and wealth… We are not rich… At all, but we are creative and have each other and are willing to think outside of the borders… I’m glad I found your channel and if you could reach back out, I would appreciate it. Thank you.
This a nice channel, thank you.
I am loving this replay 🥰 You've inspired me to travel and move again. Thank you.

I had considered moving back to Panama after living there for two years. I changed my mind and I'm now trying to decide to move there or Limon, Costa Rica.
I want the chateau life too. I planned on buying a apartment within a castle in France. However, after listening to you talk about Costa Rica and how nice the weather is I don’t know really what to do right now we’ll see.
I loved this session. I looooved how honest you are. Your words are essential! And you weren't yelling. You spoke with clarity and passion. That's what it looks and sounds like when you tryna help black women save their lives!!
Respect everyone’s dream 🥰 your dream is your dream and unique for you 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Stef, some of our people started off in the New World in Barbados. My ancestry shows that part of my family were in Barbados first and then came to South Carolina who were also the founders of South Carolina that's why Bardabiands and South Carolinians have a somewhat shared culture.
You must be Gullah Geechee! Is Gullah folks got that connection with the Caribbean! 🖤💙💚💛🇧🇧🇸🇱🇧🇸🇺🇸
Hey! You said my top pick!! Barbados!
Please provide the link to the video on Georgia (12 Days of Career Break). I cannot find it online. Thank you.
Wonderful, Excellent
Peace Love & Blessings 🙏
Thank you for the great information. Even if I stay in the US and grow where I'm planted I feel good making my oasis to always come to... no man needed 😂
"Don't tell me what to do!" GO WHERE YOU WANT❤

I appreciate this so much! Turn in your struggle bus pass. Thank you!
thank u , very refreshing , I wish there is something like this for brits black women
Your voice is like amsr, just listening to you is so soothing. BTW I love Costa Rica, its so beautiful.
What about a salon for women who sew?
My first time watching this video. You are a very pretty woman, Stephanie. I'm going to register for the Summit. This video has been so interesting. What about South Seoul Korea? Have you ever traveled to Korea? Be safe. This video was so enjoyable. 😊😊😊😊
I love you you’re so direct an you’re absolutely right about different and have different wants and needs and I listen to you because it might be. I’m sure there is a place or some places that is cheaper to live in beautiful weather and I would like to be there because here in the US, the water company is ripping people off so bad.
You are BEAUTIFUL!!! I love your skin.❤
Hi Stephanie. I love what you do. Have you been to Belize? Heading down there soon. So far I am loving what I have learned about Belize.
Hi Stephanie, have you been to Belize? If so, what did you think of Belize?
Thanks for telling us about ease
Can you please do an moving to Portugal video
I agree. Why not me? I can move wherever I want. Respectfully. 😂
Rain is to Caribbean people what snow is to North Americans.
Don't drive in the rain. Your car can get washed away.
Don't drive in the snow. You can get into an accident.
Rainy days and snow days schools close for safety.
Love the yellow dress ❤😊❤
You look great!
TOTALLY LOVIN' & VIBING HERE GODDESS👑 Will there be a 2024 Summit? 💓
I think that what you’re doing is amazing. Children need a good loving home environment.
I Love ❤ everything you called quality of Life; But I am 72 ,still working direct care in a forensic facility in baton rouge louisiana, where there is a killing it seem everyday; Where can I find community Ms. Stephanie?!
You’re AMAZING
Don’t focus on the negative comments. Completely ignore them. Tell us more about the subject. Sounds interesting.
I LOVE YOUR ADVENTURIST SPIRIT... I love South Africans, when they arrived in New York Cities for the First Time in the early 70"s. Very nice to us as students.
Hi Stephanie. Are there any places with mountains that are also welcoming for black women. Many of the recommendations seem to be coastal.
France is nice! Well for Black Americans it is…
I just saw a video with a black woman living near mountains in Céret, France. It looked gorgeous!
I met the man with the yacht in the US we were together for three years perfect relationship then he fell off because he was loose with his body. We still friends but we’re not lovers.
