[DIY] The table saw broke down during the production of the zero clearance insert!?

  • In this video, I wanted to make a zero clearance insert, which is an essential item for a table saw, but the table saw (SK11 STS-255ET) broke down during the production.
First of all, the zero clearance insert is an insert that has as few grooves as possible for the blade to come out compared to the attached insert.
By making this, it is a jig to reduce the amount of powder that is scattered on the table when cutting, and to prevent it from falling into the gap when cutting thin materials.
Until now, I didn't make it because I didn't feel the need so much, but the other day the blade didn't go down to the bottom, so when I looked it up, the end of the wood fell to the back of the blade.
So I decided to make it this time, but the table saw broke down when I said it was completed in just one step.
It's been about half a year since I bought it, but the cause of the breakage is unknown.
After turning on the switch, there was an unusual noise, and after a while it stopped.
I'm guessing that the motor was burnt because there was smoke at that time.
When I bought a table saw, I was worried about how much I could use it.
Also, since the tool itself is large, it takes up a lot of space.
However, after purchase, it is used very frequently, and most of the work that was done with a slide circular saw is now done with a table saw.
DIY without a table saw is unthinkable now.
I had to think about buying the next table saw right away, but I was wondering whether to buy the SK11 STS-255ET again or think about another option.
After all, the zero clearance insert under construction is a medium-sized product.
I had a lot of trouble, but I bought a makita table saw 2703 (actually a product called a circular saw board).
The price at the time of purchase of SK11 STS-255ET is about 20,000 yen, and makita 2703 is about 50,000 yen.
In the next video, I would like to verify whether the price is more than doubled.

The SK11 is so bad... unfortunately there are not good small table saws in Japan.
The Makita 2073 isnt bad, but Makita can make better table saws. But only sold overseas :(

      I think so, too.
Table saws don't seem to be popular in Japan.
