By chance do those plates glow in the dark?
YES!
I was seriously thinking this same exact thing.
Just run em over
I'm a physical therapist, and all the little details of the video are correct- very well done and explained
The part about it being a hip hinge back when you bend down to grab the bar helped me. I've been squatting it up basically.
Same yo
Same!!!!
Me too 😭😂
Same 😂
Me too
Watching older videos compared to newer ones, you can really see how much more detail they go into now.
I just got an online coach a couple of months ago and since she’s been giving me my workouts
Splits and I have been looking up proper form to do different exercises.
This by far has been the most informative tutorial for a exercise! Thank you so much I’m going to go and kill this work out now!
Watched this video before doing MAPS Aesthetic phase 3 today. Definitely helped me out! I made sure to reset before doing another rep, and I was able to add on 20 more pounds using the Olympic grip!! You guys are my inspiration!
The deadlift is the most fun lift imo. Good times! A slight pause in between reps to reposition is brilliant.
I am training for my first power lifting competition this video really helped thank you
Thanks guys. Great info!
Thank you this was so helpful especially the 360 view
No joke the simple tips and insights you guys give have helped me with my lifts. Thanks a bunch gents!
I totally agree. They explain everything so well and to the T. These guys are amazing
Back here after today’s episode.
Thank you! Best trainers and fun company since the lockdown! Love the priming program! I used it before swimming and yoga (😳 sounds silly. But my shoulders are happier). Grazie!
This video was so helpful thanks
I know this video is 4 years old but I just wanted to say thank you for posting this it has helped me I can now do deadlifts with out pain in my back from doing it wrong
Same.. I keep going back to this video. One of these days I will get it right 😀
This is one of the hardest exercises I have ever done holy shit man Having a perfect form is a must 😭
I want to thank you thank you thank you for keeping your butt down when lifting.
Love this one guys and am taking part in a DL Competition at my local gym Saturday!
Great Video...Thx guyz!
Thanks guys!!
What would I do without you bro’s.
Awesome channel.
Thanks guys
Great tips
Thank you guys- really helpful!
OF course!
Okay! Now I see Adam rockin the chucks.
Thank you!
awesome info
Thanks boys!
Idk of this tip will help anyone out but my shoulders were internally rotated. Externally rotating before the lift helped me able to retract and bring down my shoulders. It helped taking the weight out of my arms and kept my back yight. You know your deadlift is working if you feel your flutes acrivated before even lifting.
Watching 5 years late, but the best thing I've seen today.
Love it!!💯🙏🤙
Video starts at 2:40
awesome video! can you guys talk about the bodys position when going down to set the bar on the ground. i've seen a lot of people arch their back or keeping their legs straight when going down. what should be the correct way? newbie lol...
Good shit
Good tips for a great exercise.
Hinge and reach straight down good tips
Fking love you guys, thank for everything
Damn I've been listening to you guys for so long on Spotify that it was a mind fuck to see you guys.
why :D
Hey guys! might be good to have also mentioned something about coordinating the knee with the hip movement. I have trouble explaining it to people and I'm not even sure I have it down set myself. I.e. the timing with straightening the legs and the hinging at the top of your legs, not banging your knees, scraping your shins, riding your thighs etc.. Which comes first etc and when do you change over...
Ah - just noticed it says part 1...
P.s. love the podcast. Long time listener. Will write a review soon I promise ;)
Excellent point
I just learned so many things in 5 minutes. 😂 thanks!
Should the bar slide up ur shins or a slight gap between shins and the bar?
You guys convinced me dead lifts are great for building overall strength. Never dead lifted before. Watchung this so my form isn't complete garbage haha.
I want dem plates
He said “this is a little light” and I’m thinking that’s what I’m lifting💀💀💀💀
Should my toes facing outside or the front?
I could not understand why we should contract scapula and shoulder blades? Doesnt it cause an incrase in range of motion?
What if I only have 100lbs to work with - I have bowflex adjustable dumbells with a Jayflex bar attachment... I previously had a lumbar fusion and always a little weird about bending and pulling type of movements.
Im a beginner at deadlift how many sets and reps should I start off with
I only have dumbbells. Can I do a conventional deadlift with them and see results?
Don't skip the legs day
People are even skipping calves on their leg days
Yh, I do cardio
Wow you boys have changed! 😂
Pressure on mid or heel of the foot?
Ironic that when I clicked on this clip, the CZcams advertisement was for VShred! 😂😂😂
So I have a little fat and no matter my belt placement, it pinches my fat and it hurts but also doesn’t allow me to bend back down properly. Any advice anyone? Thanks.
Bad to use.straps for grip?
Drive with your legs, similar to the motion of the leg press.
How does this guy have such small
Legs ? Crazy .
😂
these white weights... idk, it looks like a dessert of some sort. i like
Isnt his hips too low?
Does the guy in white shorts skip leg day? He looks lika cartoon character, i cant take him seriously teaching a technique
I dont like deadlift. I am wondering why all bars rotating in your hands instead of being un moving. It is hard ro hold bar when its rotate. I hate it.
damn white weights look great Lol
Lmao
Oh so the black ones aren't good enough?
@@andrewprice5810 White weights are wonderful. Black weights are brilliant. Silver weights are....okay.
@@mediterraneandiet2483 i found my black weights at a kfc a week ago. I really dont know how they got there.
Keep the back straight to me is the most important. Will my legs become as tiny as this guy if I do dead lifts?
no lol 😂 dead lifts don’t reduce calf size
😂
Good demonstration, the only thing I would add is to squeeze the glutes at the top.
When it takes 3 people to cook ramen noodles
Dude doing the deadlift has sticks for legs
Nice intro XD
A Stephan Spielberg motion picture, lol
Is sal half wearing shoes
Yup. I see so many people bouncing the weights off the floor.
Adam I like your show especially the back episode. However, for those with old low back injuries deadlifts may not be possible. I've been doing rack pulls as ive been told not to lift from the floor. Even stiff leg deads on ham day leaves me with pain the next day and had to remove them. What do you suggest to build a complete back if you have low back restrictions?
Sounds like we need to work on your mobility . What kind of surgery did you have ?
igotudave back extensions be creative n take it slow if your rehabbing especially
Looks like Club Sports SJ
How much does converse pay you? ^^
If you are just starting the deadlift how can you modify this exercise? (I.e. Can't lift 45 lb plates on each side for the bar to be lifted at the proper height)
Ideally your gym will have extremely light number plates. Ie same size as 45's but weigh 5. Other wise, I have the same question 😁
If your gym doesn't have bumper plates . You can lay some plates on the floor and put some 5s or 10s and pull off the plates on the floor.
Don't worry about bar height. Use whatever plates you have access to/are able to lift. If you are using a smaller plate, let's say 25lbs, you will be starting the move from a deeper position and there is nothing wrong with that.
@@cress1974 this is what I did & it helped a great deal.

To much teacherssss
Not mention of eccentric.
Lots of bros going to be dropping their weights forever.
What’s with the shoes all have the same 😂
nice , now is time to do some caves hahhahhha ,
calves
The banter at the beginning is ultimate dick measuring. Haha
Vid was still useful thanks
#HookGripLife
I think an excellent way to capture the sheer multi-muscle chain of this amazing exercise is to have the fall guy take off his shirt. It would be a community service. Thank you.
Why does it look like they skip leg day
Ha! Perhaps that explains why they're using 10 lbs bumper plates in demonstration ...
That's guys calves are so skinny 😳
Anybody else have trouble not hitting themselves in the pills with the bar? I don't know what the hell I'm doing wrong but dang it's hard to feel excited about deadlifting when I know I'm going to get nut tapped on every rep.
How does the biggest guy have the skinniest legs ??
Too many people talking at the same time...
Damn, this guy has chicken legs lol
😂
Mind pump is legit af !!! Btw go check out my first Vlog ever in my page, show some love
Your shoulders are lower than your hips isn't that a no no?
Chicken legs
How many people does it take to tell you how to do a lift lol😁
Guys this ain’t rocket science.
Stefano , lose the other guys .
You guys need to work your calves
Took y'all 2 minutes to explain the f*ckin exercise..
Your back should be flat. Dont hunch your back
Shut your face
Sal: The conventional deadlift a great hypertrophy exercise?!?! Shit, no muscle goes through a full range of motion on it and it is more fatiguing than any other exercise. "great back developer"?? Do the lats go through a full range of motion in a deadlift?? And as for the deadlift improving strength everything else, the same could be said of the squat, and without the cost of excessive fatigue and without the same degree of risk because of bad technique, bad athropomology, and or mobility.
Guys, leave the powerlifting lifts to powerlifters, and stick to general strength.
boxerfencer He said hypertrophy as in growth in back THICKNESS, lat pulleys and pull ups and such work your lat which is the muscle responsible for making your back WIDER. Learn the difference
"It's a posterior chain movement. So, you're working all the back side of the body. It's a great back muscle developer, overall" (1:07). Learn to listen to what's said. And even if Sal were to say that it was a great muscle thickness developer, there's no full ROM. Learn basic biomechanics as to how it relates to hypertrophy.
yeah i dunno if hypertrophy is a great word to use here, but it's definately a good exercise which every person who wants to get stronger should hit!
Wrong type of grip. A proper deadlift uses a reverse grip, one palm facing out one palm facing in. So he started wrong
Thank you guys, those tips were sooo useful.💖🦾
