@@mattr.1887 Prayer is a communication from us to God. Although He doesn't speaks back the way we usually think, but the way He is always knowing what is going on in your mind and heart, and is eager to hear you talk about it. The way God speaks back is different, but the response is always there. Sorry If I'm not answering according to your question!

I'm not at all comfortable. Sometimes I don't pray because it often hurts. Worshipping the Lord through prayer and thanking him for all that he does is uplifting. However, praying for good things to happen and telling God about my troubles is exhausting because my burdens are too heavy. What do you do when you're burnt out and have been through so much that even telling our savior feels daunting? Faith and hope seem as though they cost too much these days. I know that God is always with us but sometimes life is too much to live. Has anyone else ever felt like this?

If it reassures you...God already knows what is in your heart. We trust in the Lord and in the person of the Holy Spirit who is in us that we are able to endure. We trust in the Lord that there is a purpose in what appears to be our "pain" today, perhaps in encouraging others to trust in the Lord too after that we have overcome and the Holy Spirit has brought us to the understanding of why God let us pass through the things we did.
This world is not our home. I pray for you by, the Spirit of God, that you will continue to find hope and the strength to carry on, in His Word and as the Holy Spirit ministers encouragement to you. May the endurance of Christ strengthen you so that you will not be weary in letting your light shine before men that they should see the good works the Spirit does through you and as a result desire the fellowship of the Holy Trinity. May the grace of our Lord be with you sister...much love xx

“Give thanks in all circumstances, for that is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus“
“Don’t grow weary of doing good”
A possible problem you may be having is a lack of community in your church. Pray thru the day is of course essential. Time in the word daily, but also to be strengthened and encouraged.
Like @Peace provided in the post above.
We set our eyes not on this world but on the things unseen. Which means we don’t fit in here-we are aliens, sojourners, that means we must stay close to those within our fold.
I pray God shows you all his different graces today so your day can be filled not with worry or concern(because he has that covered) but for your day to be filled with thankfulness and awe and appreciation-unclouded by anything worldly.

I watched my wife die from breast cancer in Dec. 2016. Earlier this year I gave a short exposition on the parable of the persistent widow. I pointed out something that is often overlooked by most speakers on that parable. This was not merely a story that gave advice for average people but is a powerful story of unshakable faith. It is reasonable to assume that this woman prayed for the recovery of her sick husband but clearly those prayers didn't "work" because she became a widow. Even after living through one of the most devastating losses imaginable she still believed that if she asked a human judge for justice a few dozen more times she might get it. She had faith that an unjust judge would do the right thing if he were asked multiple times. She had that faith even though she had been denied a request made to the Best Judge on behalf of someone else. She knew that life is a war because she had lost a major battle but she still did not lose heart and kept fighting.

      2 Cor 12:9
I’ve wondered lately on the same topic as you.
I long for and pray to be holy and for my heart and mind to be set against that which is evil….but temptation still appears appealing. Though I pray and pray.
I think there’s a factor here about avoiding sin, repentance and endurance and steadfastness. We can’t simply be praying folks who await on our Lord to do the work-we must lift our staff like Moses, or take those steps like Peter off the boat, or open the tomb like Lazarus’ family, or continue to spend time in devotion tho all seems lost - like John at the island of Patmos.
All faith. All hope. All love.
      Also in motion ourselves.
      Knowing and expecting God.
      Adoring our Father
And if your lonely Jordan, like you missed your dad when he was gone in your youth, cry our Abba, you long for him and his presence. Sing to his praise.
I’m sorry your hurting, I don’t even know what your at war with and perhaps I’m over stepping by making blanket statements. But hold fast to what is true and good and lovely and pure brother.

Learn from me (Matt 11:28) It means learn His Way His Truth His Life, not ours, which are heavy & hard. Even if u don’t tell Him the details, He knows everything. Prayer is being in His presence & listening to Him & learning from Him n doing His way

In my own life, I fail to pray for particular things, not because I'm so comfortable, but because I've been led to believe (not even in 'prosperity' fashion) that I should expect God to provide for me, for his people. I should expect his empowering. But I almost never get these (not never, but so rarely) - and I see I'm in good company in history and around the Christian world today. Life is a desperate thing. But it makes me slow to ask for things that God already knows I need. My prayers are confession. My prayers are for others' relationships with God and his ways and will. But asking for things or change to circumstances? There's a reason I don't ask. And in all this, I wish I understood the scripture's terminology: "have not seen God's people begging bread," and "abundant life." Further, much of what I ask is for my life to bear fruit that preaches to my soul that I'm obedient and stewarding my life well. And I haven't identified much of that. All of which reminds me of something I heard put very well 20+ years ago: the Christian life isn't merely difficult. It's impossible. I / we so need Him in all things all the time.

  • @VYMQGSOH
    @VYMQGSOH Před rokem +2

Actually I tend to pay more when things are going well.
Because the only time this go wrong enough to bother me to stop paying, is when I feel entirely unworthy, too disgusting and unholy in the presence of God, that I don't deserve to pay to Him and neither is He smiling and glad about what I've done recently especially if I'm still struggling against sin that becomes repetitive.
It's smooth times I pray most, because I see much to recognize God working and His blessings while also praying for others.
But there's times the church, all my family and friends turns against me while also not feeling the presence of God anymore that I may turn to sin to get through stress because God and everyone else feels like they're hating on me and don't care and Satan is just right there acting like he cares and he's the only one willing to discuss what I'm going through and give me a way to cope.
But that's wrong obviously, yet at some times when I went with what he offered because all else God and others offered me was months straight off silence and people I know hating on me, I just wanted a moment of relief and got it, but the problems still continued and until I stopped for awhile, I usually get uncomfortable to pray when things are hard and I turn to sin.
It's easier to pray when I feel like I'm doing the right thing and am on the right path.

Well start praying for a better prayer life.
(John 15:5-7) "I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you."
Abide in Christ and you will bear fruit, stray away form Christ and you will burn, very simple. I would encourage you to pray more, especially praying for forgiveness and mercy, wisdom, filling of The Holy Spirit and so on, or do you not notice that Christ is in you, so you can't bear any fruit? This is life or death for you.

    To all Christians
Jesus saying ["but the one who DOES the will of my father who is in heaven"] reveals you have to do something to enter heaven. That something is the will of the father.
The will of the father is STOP SINNING.
Stop sinning or you will be cast into Hell. If you have stopped continue to not sin.

    • @seethroughthelies7070
      @seethroughthelies7070 Před 3 lety +4

I think we need to be aware of the context of Jesus' words on sin and grace.
As Cristians, we are called to turn from sin, but what does this mean? We are justified by Jesus Christ alone and His work on the Cross, the propitiation for all who trust in Him. He gives us a new nature, and through sanctification, we hate sin more and more. But we never reach perfection in this life. Even Paul commented on how he desires not to sin but still sins. We will be finally free when God fully restores us in the next life.
It is sin patterns that are very dangerous. It is one thing to sin unitentionally (such as the many thoughts in our mind) and even intentionally to an extent. However, if we turn from the ways of God and pursue sin, we make a mockery of His son. If we continue to live this way (depending on your view of salvation), we fall away or were never saved. This is the danger to all Christians and those who God is still working on.
To anyone who is unsure, do not wait. Jesus will return like a thief in the night. Trust in Him and seek God earnestly. He will change you, and prayer is a part of that. We should continually ask Him to reveal hidden sin so that we can better glorify Him and grow in sanctification.
