I was at this gig. One of the best live music experiences of my entire life, Josh was incredible. Weird thing was, before the gig, I said to my friend "how cool would it be if Mark comes on and sings one hundred days" (one of my favourite songs ever). I didnt expect it to really happen and I cried through the whole song while my mate filmed it for me. Left the venue, got a call to tell me to come home asap as my grandad was dying. One of the happiest / most sad nights ever. RIP Grandad Eric and Mark 💔
Beautiful comment. Me too. Listen to at least a song or two of his most days, I have a huge playlist on repeat 24/7 that has loads of his stuff on it. Have a great life.
I confess, at the age of 55 after looking for and listening to music since my 13/14 years, I discover an amazing singer and songwriter… Mark Lanegan…. both with the Screeming trees and as a soloist! A first listening to recent pieces brought me back to the voice of Tom Waits… an equally great artist. Little by little the sounds of his music enter my head and his voice… and fuck if I like it! I only vaguely knew him when he was with Josh Homme but I never delved into it, too bad, a lot of wasted time. I recommend everyone to listen to it, you will not regret it if you love good music. Too bad he left so young ... rest in peace great artist
Amazing harmonies. Awesome how Lanegan can croon so low, but sounds so soft/angelic when he does the high harmonies. Seen him live a few times, always a great show.
@@bush696 ... I'm a massive fan of Thom Yorke and have been for aeons. Radiohead are nothing short of magical but I still rate Lanegan as the number 1 male vocalist ever. And I'm allowed my opinion ;)
He has the depth of tone that you are born with. Of course cigarettes and such add grit, but his soul factor is the unquantifiable magic. Cash had it, Leonard Cohen had it, and Nick Cave too. No one else of his generation really had that blues feel.
5/25/2019, stumbling upon this vid/ song. scratches the memory of an article read, Magnet Magazine, Real Music Alternatives, Winter 2008, pull it out, p 124: "Very few songs in the world can make me break down at any moment," says Homme. "'One Hundred Days' is one of those songs." "Homme is talking about one of the standout tracks from Bubblegum, the 2004 full-length debut by the Mark Lanegan Band*, a loose collective of L.A. -centric musicians including (Duff) McKagan, (Nick) Oliveri, Polly (PJ) Harvey and assorted musicians from the Queens of the Stone Age camp." *debut because previous albums had been by "Mark Lanegan" and this was the first one ascribed to the "Mark Lanegan Band"
It's Christmas Eve 2022. I'm standing in my kitchen bawling my eyes out that you are not here on this realm any more Mark. Thank you for the incredible amount of brilliance that you left for us all. I will love you forever 💖💖💖
I generally don’t know what to believe with regard to the “afterlife” what I do tend to believe is that our energy, our soul is so great that if energy cannot be created or destroyed where does is go? I do believe that we were once a someone and many times over. How many lives? No one knows. Mark Lanegan has always been someone that appears to have had many many reincarnations and what you’re witnessing is the sum of all those lives. WOW.
His story was always gonna end early. He wasn't gonna be 87, living in a care home. "Hope I die before I get old", doesn't mean you don't wanna live. Langan lived his life in 57 years. That was all he needed.
you know the studio version of hundred days definetly sounds like josh homme doing backround vocals on it, ive got a seasoned ear and i swear its him . but i can't find anywhere documentation of josh ever singing on the studio record.
Love Homme"s voice, that falsetto is truly magic. But nobody can sing or make a song his own like Mark. Fernando Viciconte from Portland, Oregon is a better story teller and writer, producer etc, and his voice rivals Mark's, but nobody is better than Dark fuckin Mark. #yourmom

One of the greatest voices in music, and now it has fallen silent. Rest in peace, Mark. I'll listen to your music for the rest of my days.

Totally true. Much love for you for this comment William 💖💖💖

This is what aging gracefully is. He just kept moving on and making relevant music. Miss him

Dark Mark, your voice was haunting in life, but in passing, your voice feels like a salvation.
Thank you for gifting your voice to my life
teary-eyed
amen

Lanegan is a Legend RIP
Mark Lanegan - best male vocalist that ever lived. Pure magic.
You said it sister! Best & most underrated of all time
obviously never heard Thom Yorke.....

except for Chris Cornell :)

Just found out Mark passed away today and sought out this video. RIP legend
My favorite song, and this is the best rendition of it . ..
Homme and Lanegan- 2 of my favourites creating perfect sounds together 🖤🖤

Dos de las mejores y PODEROSAS voces de TODOS LOS TIEMPOS.
Que delicia escucharlos. ♥️🍷
This song always makes me cry!! Just so beautifully poignant!!
I full agree
No doubt about it

i hope my fkn ship comes in
Minor Gray Music If you commander it, & steer it to your port... It will.
I know somewhere a ship comes in everyday...
The 3 unlikes must be deaf
I cant believe these two are friends dude. Holy shit
Listen to rated R and songs for the deaf bro , lanagen is all over it
Best buddies! Josh joined Marks old band Screaming Trees as a touring guitarist after Kyuss split up back in the 90s
Also thankyou @youtube for the perfect algorithm
Amazing performance, man do I miss Mark not being around. Any more from this set?
Something good.
If I hadn’t seen two out of three alive Saturday, I would said this was made in rockheaven
can a guitar player help me out -- what chords is Troy playing??
was this their last performance together? i wonder
Keefe
Why isn't Troy in the credits and title?
I was thinking that Will Ferrell could play Mark Lanegan in a bio pic, but this looks Woody Allen sat next to Frankenstein. Great song.
Love it! Great artists performing together♥️...haha...but Mark Lanegan looks a bit like Rivers Cuomo from Weezer in this video. That's cute somehow😁😁
Doesn’t get much cooler than this, fellas
Edit: is Josh out of tune? I realize he’s using a vibrato, but he still sounds out of tune

Hell yeah. I seen Fernando on the same bill as Chris Newman years ago. And also Mark around that time. In Portland
