  • I had a bunch of people hitting me up about how I mounted my Garmin unit so I said I would do a video on it! This mount is sturdy and the perfect height! Hope you all enjoy! I have linked some of the products used below from my Amazon affiliate account! If you need to get ahold of me or have something you would like reviewed you can contact me at little02T@yahoo.com. I could possibly build these to sale if you was interested but I am unsure on the price because I have not priced put the parts it would take to build it.
    Robo Cup Cupholder : amzn.to/2RxnrBg
    Note on the pliers. I got black with the size 7.87"
    Piscifun pliers : amzn.to/2X3HZqZ
    Top cap I used : amzn.to/2J5iUSB
    These were used to cap the top of pipe
    The braid line cutters : amzn.to/2X6CzM2

    Congratulations on a very nice chartplotter mount installation. I like the additional mount for your combo beverage cup and tool holder. It is amazing that all of these guys are doing all that bending over to access the chartplotter. At 74 my vision is not the best so getting the chartplotter in a reasonable/accessible/viewable position is a PERFECT solution. You are the man!
    I don't own a Garmin Livescope yet, but if I get one or maybe a Lowrance Active Target I will definitely manufacture a similar mount for it. I currently have a sun shade/sun visor attached to my Lowrance HDS7 Gen 3 unit to help with the sun glare. I coated the inside of the hood with flat black paint to further reduce the sun glare.
    Many thanks for taking the time to share your project with us.
    John

    That is pretty cool. I have been thinking of making something like that. Mine is mounted where your Lowrance is mounted. Not bad, but when fishing out front I continually have to look down and right. Great job with that.

    If you are fishing strictly vertical, that is an awesome idea. I cast 20-35 foot on crappie and I don't see how it would really work out, a large ram mount works great and you can move it around

      @PureLivingForOutdoors  Před 5 lety

      Using a slip bobber I can cast and watch my jig go down. I haven’t used it like that yet but fishing one person up front I cast side arm anyway. We will se though cause I’ll be trying it! Lol

    That mount would be even greater if it had an outside sleeve like the alum push pole with holes and a cotter type pin to adjust the height to make it higher and lower. Always looking for a better mouse trap!

    • @PureLivingForOutdoors
      @PureLivingForOutdoors  Před 5 lety

      I can adjust the height on it. The bracket attached to the pole loosens and it will slide up and down that pole. I know what your saying though my buddy built one like that using a millennium spider rig pole and took the rod holder off. I have it in another video it’s pretty sweet!

  • @secfan83
    @secfan83 Před 4 lety +1

    How does it do running down the lake? Do you have to pull the screen when you move spots with the big motor? Can you link the monitor stand you used as I am having trouble finding one that has a screw on base? Thanks and very cool idea.

    • @PureLivingForOutdoors
      @PureLivingForOutdoors  Před 4 lety +1

      If it isn’t a rough day out or if I’m not going very far I leave it up! When I had the 93sv up I never worried about but the 16” I am a little more careful with! It didn’t even move with the 9” at all. The 16” however wobbles a little bit that’s not because of stand that’s because of the deck! And I’m not sure the name brand I got it from work. They was going to throw it away so I got lucky but it would be super cheap to build one or even have someone build it!

    • @PureLivingForOutdoors
      @PureLivingForOutdoors  Před 3 lety +1

      I leave the mount but I take the unit down. I would leave it up all the time if it was the 93sv but I’ve upgraded to the 7616 GPSMAPS and that 16” is huge up there!

  • @DavidPaycheckFishing
    @DavidPaycheckFishing Před 2 lety +1

    • @PureLivingForOutdoors
