- ►Replacing the oil in your high-performance BMW E46 M3 is the least you can do to ensure a properly performing engine. The relatively small bearings and tight clearances used in BMW's S54 engine require a specific oil and a regular replacement interval. Failure to perform changes on time can lead to clogged oil passages and the potential to starve the bearings of oil.
To ensure you have all of the right parts for this service, we've put together a BMW E46 M3 oil change kit. It includes 6 liters of fresh oil, a new filter, and the required seals, all backed by our Lifetime Replacement Guarantee. Simply enter your car's specifics into the "My Garage" tool on the FCPEuro.com home page and then enter "oil change kit" into the search bar.
In this video, Mike Hidalgo, FCP Euro's professional DIY'er demonstrates how to complete an oil change on the legendary BMW E46 M3.

My new drinking game is based on whenever Mike says "my good people". I can barely type after this video... Great job Mr. Hidalgo!
Let us know your drink of choice David... we owe you one 😆
Hi Mike! I spend way too much on aged tequila. Actually I owe you unlimited pizza and beer for all the great videos you've made. Thank you and the FCP Euro crew.
First time I watch e 46 oil service interval reset done professionally on YT, great team (engineer in charge of task and rest of team), good luck guys
We know it may just be an oil change, and on a car thats been around a while, but there's always a way to improve a DIY! Glad you dig it mohammad !
Love all of Mike's DIYs!! The personal touch makes it really engaging!
We love that you love them tre!
Yes! Keep the S54 stuff coming! 🤞🏾 you’ll do the valve adjustment service.
Lotttt more S54 on its way Kishan.
@@fcpeuro Yes there is a video on this but it's not very good IMHO. It makes the procedure seem more complicated than it should be. Thank you!!
Great videos and detailed info man. A nice quick, precise video. Nice work
New to the team. Good videos and good vibes 🙏🏽
Thanks for the excellent video Mike. I am going to look for more of yours as I am sure my 2001 M3 is going to need ongoing repairs and maintenance. Mike is one of my "good people".
Welcome to the Good People Club Alvin! Happy to be of help 🙂
Thank you Mike! Any tips on how to get an oil plug off that has had the interior 6mm hex stripped? Thank you for the well shot and well lit videos!
Love the videos but the first step MUST be to warm up the engine for 15 mins before anything. That 10W 60 oil is THICK and it needs to be warm to drain out properly. I guess if you're letting it drain over night you could maybe get away with it but believe me it MUST be warm or you'll only get 5 liters or so out of the car. I know I do it every 5000 miles.
Great note, Greg!
nice job
Thank you, Jaiden and Janie!
Man I look at the 10w60. So glad I switched over to 5w50 honestly.
Just did the same thing today. Hope I can tell a difference
why u switch?
@@alikermani6731 For me personally, I was looking on bimmerwold looking at the redline 5 50 oil, they were saying that it helps with the overheating and keeping the oil Temps lower. I have definitely noticed a difference.
@@ruachhibbard3796 so which oil is the best?
My good people love it
💙
I feel like this guy changes his clothes and waxes his tools after every oil change 😂 great video
You are not far off 😂-Mike
Great video, but maybe we don't need to let the oil drain for a "couple of days" like Mike says in the video...
“I’ll catch up to this in a few days.”
DAYS?!
Couple of days to drain oil pan?🤔🤔🤔
The all mighty S54
JR loves his S54.
I'm going to change to 5w50
I see some site say the oil filter torque is 24 ft-lb and some say is 18 ft-lb which is correct for 2006 M3 -
32Nm/24ftlbs 👍
Do some E60 work
We can certainly add that to the queue!
So we are good people?
If you ask Mike, he'd say so.
I think the question is "Are we HIS good people?" LOL.
What the hell is 10w 60
What happened to the other guy?
He is coming back better and stronger than ever!
10w60 is to thick. I use water instead.
5w50
I use Mobil 0w40
