I love the line "Who says you can't teach facts with fiction?" because in the game when you give Blathers something for the museum, he offers to teach you a little fact about what you just gave him. So, in essence, you are being taught an actual fact, from a fictional character.

the 'cant teach facts with fiction' is refering to the fact that the game (a fictional seting) is teaching facts about real world things.
