- This is the NHTSA NCAP frontal crash test for 2018 Ford F-150 Supercrew (4x2, 4x4).
NHTSA New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) Frontal Impact:
The frontal crash test evaluates injury to the head, neck, chest, and legs of the driver and front seat passenger. Crash test dummies representing an average-sized adult male and a small-sized adult female are placed in the driver and front passenger seats, respectively, and are secured with seat belts. Vehicles are crashed into a fixed barrier at 35 mph (56.3km/h), which is equivalent to a head-on collision between two similar vehicles each moving at 35 mph. 1 star is the lowest rating; 5 stars is the highest. More stars equal safer cars.
Overall Rating: 5-Star
Overall Front Star Rating: 5-Star
Front Driver Side: 5-Star
Front Passenger Side: 5-Star
Overall Side Star Rating: 5-Star
Combined Side Barrier and Pole Ratings (Front Seat): 5-Star
Combined Side Barrier and Pole Ratings (Rear Seat): 5-Star
Side Barrier Rating: 5-Star
Side Barrier (Driver): 5-Star
Side Barrier (Rear Passenger): 5-Star
Rollover Star Rating: 4-Star
The rollover rating measures the risk of rollover in a single-vehicle, loss-of-control scenario.

The EcoBoost f150 did better but I agree with you.

Thats the lomg bed version ,hard to find it on dealers yet it was used on this test ,wonder if short bed will perform the same its more like 90% of pick ups out there on the streets
I need to see Raptor crash tests? Please
Love my 2019 f150. Coyote baby!!!
For some reason I feel like 5 stars should get you not basically dead going only 35 mph
There's a good safety cell for the passengers but like most cars the crumple zone doesn't slow the car down much at all.
No side impact airbags?
There are side impact airbags but they only deploy if there is impact to the side of the truck. If they deployed at the same time as the front airbags they could possibly push the driver to the opposing side causing them not to impact the front airbag at an safe angle. This may cause them injury from the dash. Both could deploy at same time depending on the crash but there momentum would keep them moving towards both airbags and hopefully not the dash.
@@davidlecroy432 very good answer
Good that's the S.O.S system kicked in
S.OS. system ?
What is the speed of the car?
35 mph (56.3km/h), per the description
@@dkitsap1 Average speed is around 50
@@dkitsap1 On a main road
raptor the best. only it's very expensive.
Their not great for towing or speed though, get an f150 EcoBoost 3.5
Raptors are great off road toys. That’s what they are made for. They are not built for work.
Disclaimer: no good trucks were harmed in the making of this video.
Ford couldn't possibly have learned anything from the underside view, due to the amount of steel beams, scuffed plastic and reflections from poor lighting. Funny the beams haven't rusted through yet. Ford should take a look at how well Volvo or GM's under carriage view is.
This crash test is so rigged as a emt that responds to car crashes the new f150's get so compacted In a crash, the truck folds like an accordion and squishes the drivers feet. Trucks are still better than the kia soul and chevy cruise a lot of people die in those compact cars when a semi hits them
🙄🙄
It was only going 35 mph, also the EcoBoost probably would've done better, my 2011 EcoBoost ran after going 65 mph. Of course it was only a deer I hit but based on what I've seen and experienced it does a lot better than most other trucks.
What about the wheight of the f150 on another car
